Nosler Custom Competition Bullets

Anybody shooting the Nosler Custom Competition bullets? 6 mm 105 HPBT. They are showing a pretty high bc. Looking for some real world range results.
Thank You
Good Shooting

I tried them in a 6x47L and a 6xc, did not get the results I was looking for. If you want to try some, I would gladly let you have these?

I have a bunch of them but haven't tried them. I did a lot of research though. What I found.
BC is nowhere near what Nosler claims but is still decent.
They are generally less uniform than the other match bullet makers.
Therefore, less accurate.

However, they probably make excellent bullets for plinking/load development/chonoing/fireforming. You could always sort them too.

vervi1jw,
As a side note and not being critical, in any way of what you wrote, and I do not use the Nosler bullets, but something that got my attention a few years ago was almost an obvious factor that is often forgotten, And that is that bullet and load recommendations and claims of BC by manufacturers, are all shot out of their particular rifle that mostly likely, is a very different platform that we may use ourselves. The caliber and style of rifle may be the same, but things are different therafter. And when considering all the potential variables that we so diligently strive to reduce and eliminate, those differences violate the basic concept that each specific rifle is different and hence the results in terms of accuracy and even BC results might be light years apart. That is something I've personally experienced in trying loads, even using Lapua Match bullets where it was perfect in one competition rifle, and simply awful in another. And that's using even the same bullet seating depth, casing neck tension, etc, etc, etc. Just something to consider if things don't work out as advertised.

I shot a box of these at 600 in my 6mmAR across the course gun.... they shot extremely well with RL-15 and CCI BR4 primers

My friend shot these at 1K last year, results on initial first two relays were looking pretty good, then it opened up and never looked good again, think there may be some potential there but sorting would be a must and as I recall the meplat was really wide so pointing might be needed.

Boy, I haven't found that at all... Hornady is awful for example. I put Nosler right below Berger in build quality and I am shooting almost exclusively Nosler now...

How far and what caliber are you shooting Bradley, and what kind of results, thanks.

I just ordered 10 boxes at $15.95/ hundred for 6mm 105HPBT so im hoping that they are what Nosler claims. These were not blems but an over run at $10-$12 / 100 cheaper than any on line store so it was a great deal if they are consistent.

FYI. I haven't measured any personally. Just going by many of the testimonials I have read that may have been older. They could have improved upon that since then. However, they are cheap! I probably wouldn't use them for a match but would be great budget for all the other aspects.

I bought 1500 when the 250 boxes where in overrrun.

I also shot some of these with a 6mmAR match rifle in a 3x600 match. I shot 195-6, 196-5, and 196-5. This was my first match after switching from a service rifle. I don't think the bullets cost me any points. Load was AA brass, 27 gr H4985 and Rem 7 1/2 BR.

I shot some of my best 600 yrd scores with nosler 80 grainers in a service rifle. they use j-4 jackets which are very consistent

All these A,s on the report card makes me wonder if i should of bought 3000. :o

Noslers suck bro. They only made the best varmint bullet ever made (and cost twice as much back in the day--I think Hornady was the it's almost as good "pricepoint" bullet back then)...

Of course you know only Sierra, Hornady and Berger can make real match bullets...

I don't know if your comments about bullet quality are all serious, but Hornady BTHP match bullets also shoot very well... I shoot the Hornady 68 gr BTHP at 200 in both my Service Rifle (AR-15) and my .223 Spacegun and those loads consistently shoot 1/2MOA in those guns. The load is N-140, Hornaday 68 BTHP and either Rem 7 1/2 or CCI BR4 primers. This is my standard mag length load, I have shot it at 200 and 300 for years, and it has been consistently excellent. I am careful about my testing and I know that these bullets and this load performs.

Hornady makes fine bullets for other people... The 105 A max batch I bought was the least consistent measured bullet batch I have ever measured so far in that bullet type. Seating depths were all over the place, and they shot like poop.

BTW, I love their reloading equipment and they have the nicest customer service people in the world!!!

The 55 grain 224 55 grain V max is a deadly bullet.... but for my money it won't touch others for even less money... I like the Z max its pretty...
