Load data for 6MM BR using Nosler 105 gr Custom Competition Bullets

I'm looking for some load recipes for 6MM BR using Nosler 105 gr (.243") Custom Competition Bullets. I prefer to use Varget powder but, also have Hodgdon H4895 and VihtaVuori N140.

JPM welcome to the Forum. A wealth of information here, look at the home page and click on 6 BR cartage tab and scroll down. There is a lot of loads for the 105 weight class bullet.

If you can find some Varget, I good place to start is at 30.5 gn. In my testing, the bullet seating depth had more impact on accuracy than the powder charge. Initially, a big mistake I made was trying make multiple changes at the same time. When you find a seating depth that is shooting consistant, you can then go back and vary the powder charge.
IMO, the most difficult reloading process is learning how really prepare the brass to give you a consistent neck tension. Darrell at DJ's Brass Service was is a great help and is a good place to start. It will save you $, time and frustration to have a pro like Darrell to help you set up and prepare your initial brass. He can also maintain it long term.

I don't think I would start at 30.5 grains of varget. That sounds more like a max load.

The sweet spot with my rifle is not that hot, you received good advice earlier. The 6br page has a lot of good info.

Varget is a very good place to start. I ended up where a lot of folks do--30.0 Grains. With my particular components 30.3 Gr was too hot.

Please don't START at 30.0 of varget. Work up to it JUST in case its not worth it to jump right in. We don't know your particulars on your rifle and chamber. Hate for it not to go good for what ever reason.

30.5 would blow the extractor out of a Tubb/ Schnider barrel gun that I had. That would be real warm in all the other barrel I have run in other guns as well. Just work it up... better safe than saying "Oh $hit!"

If you have the latest Nosler load book (7th ed.) you will not see load data for any 6BR 55-105 bullets. On their website loads stop at 80 grains. As mentioned the loads listed on this site are numerous. Some very good reading and advice here.

I use 30 grs of Varget, 105 Vld's and Hybrids, Tula SRM primers in my 26inch Shillen/Savage 6mmBR. Start lower and work up without heavy pressure signs to the lowest ES and SD possible. Use your Chronograph, record the results, and remember every gun is different. It will tell you when you have the right load.

Accuracy is not a race....

Start at 27gr (10% low) of Varget and work up in .3 gr increments.

You'll likely end up around 30 grains, but work up to it.
