Northern Idaho?

And this describes the problem facing rural dwellers around the world. They are governed by the urban population who, generally speaking, don't have a clue regarding rural life. Rules and regulations which may actually be necessary in urban settings, have no real application in the country. Today, as the rural areas are being invaded by city folk, we are seeing the makings of a real demographic clash.
Election results are just one of the more obvious issues. Representation by population penalizes rural counties. WH

Idaho legislature takes a stand against "wokeism" corrupting state universities.

PS: Two of the colleges mentioned are in N. Idaho: Lewis-Clark State and University of Idaho.

It’s about time someone takes a stand now we need this to spread nationwide

I am very proud to now be a resident of N. Idaho. We are in an apartment in CDA until our house in Post Falls is finished around December. It was hard finding a builder who would do a pre-sale so we could pick options.

Idaho also just passed a bill protecting shooting ranges, and ID is a 2A sanctuary state as well.

Welcome. I was just across the border in what we Washintonians call America this morning. Just an FYI, Black Sheep had powder this morning. 4831sc, both IMR and H 4350, H110, Trail Boss, RL16 and a few shotgun powders. 1 pounders only though. Some bullets but mostly stuff few use like Hornady 90 grain 22 and 230 and 250 grain 30 cal. No primers still. If you drop by and they have some primers, let your less fortunate brothers in the peoples republic of washington know will ya?

Welcome to NID. The range at Farragut just started opening on Mondays this month so they're back to their regular pre Wuhan schedule.
Wuhan. That's in CHINA ain't it? Just sayin'.

I joined Fernan and have been shooting there.

Well, Idaho is nearly the fasted-growing state, the Boise area in particular. And, guess what? Most newcomers are coming from blue states. Idaho used to be darker red on the political maps. It's not inconceivable that Idaho becomes "purple" in a few years if the influx of newbies continues at the current pace. This already happened to Nevada, which was the fastest-growing state for much of the past several decades, with most newbies coming from Kalifornia.

PS I grew up in Lewiston.

For the past 25 years or so I take a couple weeks and do a little trout fishing on the North fork of the C/W, For the past few years I cant believe the amount people that are doing the same thing. It seems everyone of them has a Subaru outfitted with a rod holder on the roof with two guys holding hands in their Orvis matching vest and waders, What the heck's going on?

You are shooting at the same range a well known and accomplished F Class shooter frequents. Coincidentally he is also a refugee from Oregon and hangs out on this site from time to time. Have you met him?

Its not gonna get any better either.

I am always surprised when I see that people are surprised by population increases and other changes. Almost nothing stays the same.........

Of course, you exaggerate just slightly, but that's funny.

You should have known the North Fork before Dworshak Dam was built. Perhaps you did. There's still plenty of headwaters left but a lot of great river was sacrificed.

It has nothing to do with population increase, iITS LITERALLY AN INVASION in Idaho and Montana.
What people don't seem to understand is Schools, roads and infrastructure are falling dismally behind by the big influx.
The biggest problem is Taxes, crime, traffic while the people that have been here cant keep up, your 15.00-20.00 dollar an hour job ain't gonna cut it.
Housing prices are soaring IF you can find one. Theres so many people moving from the Left coast being able to work at there high paying job from home were they came from, they just better hope they don't have to start living on MT and Idaho wages or they will have a big reality check.

Do they have the obligatory "coexist" sticker on the back of that Subaru? If they do then tell them if they want to coexist with you that they need to get off your river. :)

OK maybe not but it does cross ones mind.

You just described EVERYTHING that comes with a population increase. This has been happening for decades, and is nothing new.

When I left OR and WA for the USAF in 1983, both states were good conservative places to live. When I moved back to Oregon in 2007, both OR and WA were heading for a cliff because of liberals moving in and voting for progressive policies. They have now run me out. ID is the last place in the PNW that is Conservative and I will fight to keep it that way.

We lived at Cold Springs Creek in 1961. Great fishing and tons of elk. I was there again in 1972 but have never been back. We used to fish on the Little North Fork before the dam was built. A good hike to get there but great fishing. WH

All but the lower 5 miles or so of the Little North Fork (46.3 miles long) is still free-flowing.
