Norma 6Dasher Brass

So I just received my order of Norma 6 Dasher brass and it looks great. Very uniform so far. I only measured 10 or so out of the order. I'm going to trim it down to fit my chamber and load it up. It's great to have over the counter 6 Dasher Brass. Thanks again Shiraz.

i have a general similar question. i have two dasher barrels. one barrel is on a more or less 'plinking' rifle. i have yet to use it. i would like to use this brass initially on this barrel. My other barrel uses lapua fire formed and if i use some of this brass on that barrel i plan to trim to the same length. The question is, do i need to trim this brass to use in any barrel unless i have one reamed by a reamer specific to this brass? In other words, is the brass too long for run of the mill dasher chamberings of various reamers used by most gunsmiths?

I think it is too long for old chambers. You could trim the neck to match your chamber.

The simple answer is "Yes". This brass is too long (only in the neck) for the "old" chambers. Send your barrel to your gunsmith and have him extend the neck deeper with a neck reamer to match the brass. You can also have him throat the bullet deeper if you want to load the bullet farther out in the neck.

Of course, you can do what some of the guys are doing and trim the neck back to match your chamber neck length.

I have a Sinclair digital neck mic. Send me some and I will measure them for you. 100 should be enough for a statistically valid sample population, 200 to be safe.
