Nightforce...the best or......?

I see a lot of Nightforce scopes for sale (just counted 11 on page 1-3)..I personally have never owned one although I have shot multiple 15-55comps.
My question is what are you replacing them with and why? I really like the new NX8 but don’t wanna be disappointed!

I have the NX8 2.5-20 and I love it. Glass is better than my NXSs. IMO the NX8 2.5-20 and the 4-32 are the best scope for the money.

I run US Optics.

So I had a USO on my .50 (5x25) and it was a good scope but now USO has terrible reviews and look like they have changed things with some models. Do you know what's up with them bc I tried to call them but got the vm since covid is still doing it's thing. I'd like to buy that 1-8 scope for my AR but not if they have gone to crap.
Do you know what's up with them??? Thanks

I do not. I’ve used their customer service quite a few times with zero issues. Now granted I have not contacted them since/during all this COVID junk. I own quite a few USOs. I run USO on all my bolt and gas guns. For my applications they are VERY accurate, repeatable and take a beating.

We have to work on a lot of things we use. Actions and triggers are the same way.
And thank goodness you and a few others are able to do those things. It just does not seem right to me to have to modify a premium priced scope to do something fundamental (like hold zero). Anyhow that's the way it is.

JEFFPPC said it best. None are without issues and everyone has a favorite based on their needs. Nightforce makes excellent scopes. I'll say that simply because the OP is bringing this scope brand to this thread. Many other manufacturers make equally excellent scopes. Price too me is the biggest difference. The saying " You get what you pay for" does not necessarily fit into scopes. Many cases it does but not all cases. When you get into the top tier scopes (2500.00+) I believe the term fits better. I've compared Nightforce (clarity only and low light use only) and found it's not the best I've looked thru on both cases. Those two things aren't the only things some people call most important scope qualities. For others, they are. A PRS guy may want other scope strengths while a BR guy has his needs etc. I have my favorites and they also fit best into my price range and use category. Nightforce is on my list of scopes to purchase and evaluate over time in the field. Just looking thru the eye piece doesn't give the rest of the story. I just don't NEED one with what I currently own. They all do everything I need right now. I mounted a Trijicon 5-50 recently and I'll play with it for a while hoping it's what Trijicon claims it to be. So far, so good.

I got an e-mail from Nightforce today saying they just came out with the NX8 in SFP for these scopes. I shot my NX8 at 1000, 800 and 500 yards this morning and was very happy again with my NX8 4-32x50 FFP but am glad they now offer the same one in a SFP for different reasons. The NX8 is a great scope, glad they are moving forward.

look at the number of Sightrons for sale... I have two NF comps in 15-55 for F Class and can not see any reason to not like them.

That new reticle on the nx8 sfp is something different with moa numbers for both 32 power and 16 power. It makes some sense after you study it, but might get confusing on a quick hunting shot.

Yep, you need good eyes for the SFP but I like the floating center for hunting. More like the Leupold moa. Really like the open center.

I think NF and Vortex are the toughest scope, I have heard about nightforce scope that was damage in battle by a tray bullet but it was still working. I will try and post a link of the event but NF scope are my favorites.

Apples to apples comparison would be NF 15-55 vs Sightron SVSSED 10-50. I'd been looking for a used Sightron Ed 10-50 going on a year now and I can tell you they are a very rare species. I gave up and bought a new one from Lancexxx. I see a used NF 15-55 for sale almost daily.???

I do own an older NF 12-42, and it is an excellent scope. The Sightron ED is fantastic. The reason I chose the Sightron over the NF 15-55 has a lot to do with the fact that no one seems to want to part with the Sightrons

In the market for a new br scope. I have narrowed it down to two. The Nightforce comp 15x55 or the Sightron SVSS Ed. Can anyone tell me if the new Nightforce are still having poi problems or has the problem been fixed. Would really appreciate any help on these two scopes Thanks

I asked those NF guys at the NRA convention last year that very thing. They just got a little excited and said there was no truth at all to that vicious rumor.:D:p Ive got NF benchrest scopes and a sightron 10-50- ill check in a little bit to see if its an ED.

I can tell you this for sure. I have had POI issues twice with NF and both times they said no problem, your mounts and mounting procedures are wrong, nothing wrong with the scope. Funny, put the scope back on worked fine in the same mounts. Turned me off for sure. I really liked my 12x42 BR models but I sold them, just tell me the truth about what you repaired I understand mechanical things have issues, don't give me a line of b.s. I have talked to quite a few shooters whose experince with NF mirrors mine.
