what is special about these rings ? are they any better than say Leupold rings or Burris signature rings with the inserts ?

Interesting question. I have purchased NF rings/mounts almost exclusively for 15 years. Are they better?

They are good quality, but how much better , IDK. Looking forward to other responses.

Quality scope rings are great but only as good as the base and even more so, the alignment of the base screw holes in the receiver. If the screw holes are off any amount then the base is off and rings also.

This is where I believe Burris rings shine. They can correct for any misalignment in any of those items and allow you to get your scope pointed in the same spot as your barrel without the need to lap them and also ensure you're not maring your scope tube at the same time.

what is the torque setting for Burris rings

Nightforce makes a quality ring, I have a few sets in use, they are machined nicely and never leave a mark or loosen after proper install. Are they better than Burris or Leupold, worth the extra money? Thats subjective, too many they are and are worth the extra money. I have used Burris and Leupold all my life too…..

When I can I try and use NF or Hawkin rings. To each their own

If I remember correctly the crossbolt screws were 30 inch pounds and the cap screws were 15 inch pounds. These torques are for the Burris rings.
