I like the reticle with the open center and dot. Seems like more scopes are getting that right.
It works great in its big brother and they made the reticle a little thicker for the lower powered 4-24 so the lower power can still be used.

Seems like a lot of asking price for a 24x with 44mm Objective
Compared to other makers of scope with higher power and larger Objectives
It would be nice to hear the low power view compares to the NF NX-8 4-32 in FFP.It works great in its big brother and they made the reticle a little thicker for the lower powered 4-24 so the lower power can still be used.
I have one coming this week for AR-trainer for PRS type shooting used out to 600 yards. The MSRP is ridiculous but street price is passable. A year from now and a couple hundred bucks less and I bet it will seem like a good value.
Been using a Vortex PSTII 5-25 50mm on this particular gun, which I’ve had no complaints about but is a pretty long scope that looks a little goofy on an AR. I have both the Gen ii and Gen iii to compare against on bolt guns.
I must bee in the minority on this. I have resisted open center reticle with small dots as long as possible due to my eyes can't always pick them up easily.I like the reticle with the open center and dot. Seems like more scopes are getting that right.
You need to find a FFP scope with a bigger dot.I must bee in the minority on this. I have resisted open center reticle with small dots as long as possible due to my eyes can't always pick them up easily.
Any updates on the new gen III compared to your ZCO?I got the 4x24 today. So first impressions next to my ZCO420 (sun setting). Optically the vortex has slight edge over the ZCO.. The Razor has about 1mil more of FOV over the ZCO at matching magnification. The parallax is nicer with more range on the Razor.
"Negatives" on the Razor, no thick lines to the outside of the reticle which make it pretty hard to see at low magnification, but illumination should negate that.
Eye box seems to be the same on both (I don't have the Razor mounted yet). That's all I could test before it was too dark.
Lame…Zzzzz
Not a fan of that power range. 4x is probably too low for any practical use outside of hunting in brushy close quarters, and 24x isnt quite enough magnification for my taste at long range when trying to shoot tight groups. I usually prefer a top end of 30x or more.
I have been using scopes with the 7-35x magnification range. I have 3 scopes with that range on rifles now and love them. They weigh 38 oz, but I’ll gladly take that little bit of extra weight over the Vortex for an additional 11x magnification top end.
I the ultimate would be a scope with a 7-42x mag range. Leupold makes, or at least used to make one, but its Leupold so it didn’t hold up well to any real world abuse according to reviews. I wish someone besides Leupold would consider making a scope with that mag range.
March makes a 5-40X56 and a 5-42X56. The first one is a normal FFP (20°) with ED glass, the other is a wide angle FFP (26°) with Super-ED lenses.Lame…Zzzzz

Just the 32 oz weight would be a cause to look elsewhere for a hunting scope. Also not convinced a FFP is a benefit for hunting but that’s just a personal choice.

It’s just too heavyWhy?
I wouldn’t knowNope but it will work just fine for other hunting uses.
No need to get offended, I’m a mountain hunter and every ounce counts, if other guys want to carry the weight that’s fine but most guys I know look at optics around 20oz or less on top of a 6-7 pound rifle. If you’ve ever hunted the Cabinet or Bitterroot Mt’s, you’d get pretty tired packing out and Elk plus all your gear including a big heavy rifle and scope.dropped a lot of weight and people still complain. lol
