No need to get offended, I’m a mountain hunter and every ounce counts, if other guys want to carry the weight that’s fine but most guys I know look at optics around 20oz or less on top of a 6-7 pound rifle. If you’ve ever hunted the Cabinet or Bitterroot Mt’s, you’d get pretty tired packing out and Elk plus all your gear including a big heavy rifle and scope.

No offended in the least but this is obviously not a scope for you. This was made for people who wanted lighter and smaller than the other Razors before it and it does that. Or anyone who isn’t hunting mountains and doesn’t mind a few more ounces.

That’s why they make a Gen III 6-36 as well for people wanting more power but this scope with its weight and power range will fit the needs of a lot of people.

Yeah but a person has to draw the line somewhere with weight and the 4 lbs of the 6-36x model hanging off the top of most rifles is getting silly. If the extra weight equated to extra durability and reliability, maybe it would be worth it, but Vortex has a known issue with turret failures in the Razor scope line.

lol no they are not known for turret issues. There is no “known issue” with the turrets. They are used a lot in PRS matches and turrets are turned a lot so if there was an issue it would come out. It hasn’t.

Also the scopes are not 4 pounds. The 6-36 is 45 ounces or 2 pounds 13 ounces. I get it you don’t like them. Don’t buy one. I put this up for people to see a new scope being offered. You obviously don’t want one. Don’t buy one. lol

You need to find a FFP scope with a bigger dot.

A bigger center dot is why I like my Eotech Vudu 5-25 with MD-3 reticle.
