New Vortex Gen III 4-24x44 has landed!

Seems like a lot of asking price for a 24x with 44mm Objective
Compared to other makers of scope with higher power and larger Objectives

Not really. Don’t get hung up on the objective size. It still gives good lowlight performance. At its street price it’s a good price for what you get. Just keep watching reports as people get theirs.

I have one coming this week for AR-trainer for PRS type shooting used out to 600 yards. The MSRP is ridiculous but street price is passable. A year from now and a couple hundred bucks less and I bet it will seem like a good value.

Been using a Vortex PSTII 5-25 50mm on this particular gun, which I’ve had no complaints about but is a pretty long scope that looks a little goofy on an AR. I have both the Gen ii and Gen iii to compare against on bolt guns.

Yeah mine will be on my 6ARC for gas gun division out to 1000+. It’s nice it has as much elevation as it does as I had to shoot to 1270yards this past weekend at a match and ran out of elevation and just held over.

This is 4-20x50 Athlon Argos it's on a hunting rifle. The dot is .7 MOA $400. I never could find a duplex scope with 20 power. If your eyes are getting bad, this will help. 80 moa SFPImage.jpg

I got the 4x24 today. So first impressions next to my ZCO420 (sun setting). Optically the vortex has slight edge over the ZCO.. The Razor has about 1mil more of FOV over the ZCO at matching magnification. The parallax is nicer with more range on the Razor.
"Negatives" on the Razor, no thick lines to the outside of the reticle which make it pretty hard to see at low magnification, but illumination should negate that.
Eye box seems to be the same on both (I don't have the Razor mounted yet). That's all I could test before it was too dark.
