New Upgrade for the V3 AutoTrickler

While the idea/design may be sound what is the point if the V3 is no longer being produced.
They should just develop their own entire system.
I would think ! Demand would inspire more V-3 Parts ? Most parts are still out there .
The Housings are not ! Some shop must be set up to make them ,if there is a demand ?

The good news is Paul's innovation seems to perform quite well compared to Adam's stock v1, v2, or v3 AutoTrickler.

The not-so-great news is that you still have to have (or buy) a v1, v2, or v3 AutoThrow in order to have the other half of the equation. What's also not clear is whether you have to have (or buy) the stepper motor from the v1/v2/v3 AutoTrickler. Regardless... the whole thing is built on the back of a discontinued product line, and so there's the caution that comes with that.

Paul's definition of "Plug and Play" is also very different from mine. After watching his assembly and setup videos I'd describe it as actually quite "fiddly."

He doesn't support very many powders at present. Hopefully, a whole bunch more are coming soon.

Ultimately, the heavy lift of Adam MacDonald's innovation with the AutoTrickler was the electronics and the software. The machining wasn't trivial, of course, but that's not where the magic happens.

Best of luck to those of you who decide to check this out.

While I really like my V2, it does overthrow or underthrow depending on the powder. Sometimes a few kernels fall at the same time. I throw with a Harrells and trickle up.
I'm seriously considering this. I agree with the limited powder disc's available, hopefully more discs will become available. And yes, unless you already have a V2 or later, it's pointless. Cool concept though.

You don’t have to buy a motor. You simply take one off the existing AutoTrickler trickler.

I’m not sure what is fiddly. Once you put the motor on there is nothing to fiddle with. Took me less than 10min to get mine together and going.

Powders aren’t “supported”. It’ll work with pretty much any powder, the ones listed on the site are a reference with regard to which disc works best based on what was available to test it with. Once the newest disc is available it will accommodate large extruded powders like H50BMG. I’ve run 2000MR (tiny flattened ball/flake) to N150 (bigger extruded kernel) with and had zero issues.

I don’t see the advantage over the V4. However, if I was wayyyy down on the V4 waiting list and could get this immediately, I might consider giving this a run.

I really like the idea of this unit, kinda like a case sorter for powder but the $345 on top of what I spent for the V3 is hard to swallow. I'm watching it and, on the fence, but is it really that good?

Why all the negativity? You buy it or don't buy it. If you are going to find fault with it or zcriticize it, then make a better unit.
I could not agree more, what I fail to understand is why anyone on this forum or any other forum for that matter gives one iota of a F@&# how I chose to spend MY money, on any product. They are not my banker, wife, or father. I would think in these challenging economic times that we would all stand behind any business started and manufactured here in the US rather than trash talk them....sure is not helpful to the local economies and the general demeanor of this forum which is supposed to be a venue to offer informative exchange to further the sport.
