New to me priming tool...

I may be preaching to the choir on this, but I bought a Lee bench priming tool because it was getting hard to use the hand priming tool. This tool turns priming from a chore to a pleasure for me. The best part is the price, $38 from Midway. Like everything Lee does, this tool in well thought out and is priced right.

Nothing wrong with it.

If you had done this many years ago before they went to that style tray, they had a round one that worked really well. That older style didn't have the safety gate features, but they ran smooth as silk. You would have liked that older hand primer too.

I recently switched for the same reason, the only thing I don't care for is the primer tray. The whole thing much easier on my old hands!

That's a standard warning on any priming tool -- and good advice, especially for eyeballs. It only takes one primer detonation to leave you blind for life.

I just decided last night that I'm going to get one as well. From what I see, they look like they work well and seat smoothly and consistently.

I have been priming on the press and that looks easier and faster. Plus, I'm looking to upgrade presses and the new one can't prime on the press.

I use the scale to set up my Harrel's powder measure. Then just drop the powder. I sample about 3 per 50 rounds and just seat the bullets.

I have 2 of the older hand primers. One for sm rifle and one for large. Those are the reason I bought this one. The primer tray isn't a problem.

What's the general concensus on these bench mounted Lee priming tools? Don't want to buy myself a problem tool.

All I can do is tell you to spend the money and find out what you've been missing. There's others out there, but you can't beat the price of the Lee. There is an insert cartridge for small and large primers.
