New Shooting Bench

Finally getting around to building my portable bench using the last of Urbanriflemans unwelded brackets, 2 sheets thickness of 3/4" plywood, Chewy box template, liquid nails, etc. I went 24" wide with a 12" cutout at the rear and 44" long which fits in the car better than 48". I did a 1/4" radius on the edges with the router, nice and smooth. Finished with gray Rustoleum oil based paint rolled on. Waiting for the paint to dry then I have to cut the legs as I bought a 10' length of pipe as it almost the same price as a 36" pipeView attachment 1543921View attachment 1543922View attachment 1543923View attachment 1543924View attachment 1543925View attachment 1543926ce.

Nice!!! Very nice!!!

I find that the shooting experience is a lot better with a little bit of abrasive grip on the top of the table. If you find that is too slick brush on another coat of rustoleum and spread some sand on it. This makes it feel like a concrete bench. Much better for bipods. If you need it.

Shoulda tried the 'delta wing' design! lets you get square behind your rifle like shooting prone. {As long as you can set set scope rearwards a tad). See your hits much better in the field. Wide and stable.

My last shooting bench that sits in the woods for 100 yard load development, super cheap I literally have some fasteners invested.
Im thinking this with drummers throne or the horseshoe type I need height adjustable me the wife and kids range between 5'5" to 6'7" fixed ain't gonna cut it

When I shoot off of a concrete bench at the range I always spread an old bath rug over the top before set-up. Any thoughts of gluing some astro-turf over the top of your bench?
