Hi Chris, seeing as you have the tip of the base headed towards the target paper. You could change the location of the bottom locking lever by unscrewing the little screw on the bottom collar and rotate the entire collar. You should be able to have both levers facing you regardless of the direction of the base plate.Purchased an AR 250 from another member who was moving to a one piece rest.
Really liking it so far and very pleased with the range of coverage the joystick has. It will cover a full ARA card easily at 50 yards.

Hello Wesley, I do have some add ons in the pipeline for the issues you are facing though I still can't share much as I am still researching the best design options.I shot my second match with mine yesterday. I wish it was heavier coming from a Hart base and Greenlaw top, but I understand that was one of the selling points: the light weight. It would be nice if there were an option to add a steel plate underneath the rest without finding a fabricator. I didn't buy it for the lightness; I bought it because of the price and availability. It's the quickest and best value in the world of joysticks.
My more significant issue is the bags. 2.5 inches is too wide for my Bergara. I wound up adding several layers of foam shelf liner between the stock and bag to lock down the rifle. I know, Randolf is making an adapter for their top, but do I want to spend another $300+ for a top and adapter for something I just paid $765?
I used hot glue to add three short sections of canvas gun belt material to bottom and sides. The material is about 5mm thick. and the result grips my Bergara H14r stock perfectly. I shot it last week at the ARA Nationals in Wright City, MO. BTW, there were a lot of high scoring Bergara shooters, not me though LOL, I was twentieth out of seventy seven competitors.I shot my second match with mine yesterday. I don’t think it would work as designed. I had a 17.5# rifle and it was, what I felt was maxed out. I’d buy a Mini if I were you.Has anyone tried using the AR250 with a heavier rifle?
I have a Masterpiece Arms rifle that weighs 19.75#.
Thanks in advance..
I contacted Christopher - there is a counterweight available - which I will try. I only have one heavy rifle the rest are all under 15#..I don’t think it would work as designed. I had a 17.5# rifle and it was, what I felt was maxed out. I’d buy a Mini if I were you.
Is he talking about an additional counterweight? It has one as it comes. I had mine extended as far as it would go. It was beyond the end of the shaft with the set screw at the very end. Good luck with whatever you decide.I contacted Christopher - there is a counterweight available - which I will try. I only have one heavy rifle the rest are all under 15#..

This is in his letter.Chris the new top plate is a welcome addition, especially for ARA Factory shooters. I love my AR250 with the addition of some heavy canvas belt sections as pictured below. The new top looks like a much better solution. Please let us know how to order the new top.

It's actually my son's (Christopher Lionel) prototype rest, designed for air rifle / rimfire BR.
The "AR-250"
He designed and made 3 prototype units by himself with his teamwork, I only helped him to make sure the rest and the details are Ok.
1. It's inexpensive (I was told it would be under $700 price range, shipped),
2. It's light and compact, pivot head, with a large retractable column that can be locked very securely.
3. It has extra wide MOA travel in the joystick and also very smooth.
Chris sent two prototype units to Pilzen 2023 and one to Larry for input and feedback.
I was told that someone (Fady from Lebanon) won the 50m Unlimited and set a new world record in Pilzen 2023 using this rest for the first time.
Another one (Bruno/Fabiene Delatre) use the rest and placed 6th in the LV/HV air rifle match.
Probably others, I do not know exactly, yet.
For me that's a sign/proof that the rest works as expected.
A proud father,
seb
