New SEB Smallbore Rest

Purchased an AR 250 from another member who was moving to a one piece rest.

Really liking it so far and very pleased with the range of coverage the joystick has. It will cover a full ARA card easily at 50 yards.
Hi Chris, seeing as you have the tip of the base headed towards the target paper. You could change the location of the bottom locking lever by unscrewing the little screw on the bottom collar and rotate the entire collar. You should be able to have both levers facing you regardless of the direction of the base plate.

Thank you much for this I formation, that will make adjustment of the height much easier having the lever facing me. Appreciate all of your help and designing a very nice rest!

I shot my second match with mine yesterday. I wish it was heavier coming from a Hart base and Greenlaw top, but I understand that was one of the selling points: the light weight. It would be nice if there were an option to add a steel plate underneath the rest without finding a fabricator. I didn't buy it for the lightness; I bought it because of the price and availability. It's the quickest and best value in the world of joysticks.

My more significant issue is the bags. 2.5 inches is too wide for my Bergara. I wound up adding several layers of foam shelf liner between the stock and bag to lock down the rifle. I know, Randolf is making an adapter for their top, but do I want to spend another $300+ for a top and adapter for something I just paid $765?

Hello Wesley, I do have some add ons in the pipeline for the issues you are facing though I still can't share much as I am still researching the best design options.

One thing for sure is I am planning to create a new adjustable top plate which could accomodate any rifle size similar in principle to the NEO-X's top. I hope I'll be able to offer them by the end of this year once my rest production capacity can catch up to the current demand.

I used hot glue to add three short sections of canvas gun belt material to bottom and sides. The material is about 5mm thick. and the result grips my Bergara H14r stock perfectly. I shot it last week at the ARA Nationals in Wright City, MO. BTW, there were a lot of high scoring Bergara shooters, not me though LOL, I was twentieth out of seventy seven competitors.

Has anyone tried using the AR250 with a heavier rifle?
I have a Masterpiece Arms rifle that weighs 19.75#.
Thanks in advance..

I don’t think it would work as designed. I had a 17.5# rifle and it was, what I felt was maxed out. I’d buy a Mini if I were you.
I contacted Christopher - there is a counterweight available - which I will try. I only have one heavy rifle the rest are all under 15#..

Is he talking about an additional counterweight? It has one as it comes. I had mine extended as far as it would go. It was beyond the end of the shaft with the set screw at the very end. Good luck with whatever you decide.

It's an additional counter weight - I'll update how it works after i try it with the heavier rifle..

Hello all, ever since I launched the AR250 many people have been asking for an adjustable top especially for those who shoot with various non standard stock sizes (other than 3" and 2.25"). This is a late Christmas present but I am happy to announce this new adjustable top plate design. This adjustable top plate uses a 3pcs bag system with a center front bag and 2 bags on the sides which will give 100% contact with the rifle stock no matter the width. The compact design of the side plates is possible due to a different locking mechanism than most side plates out there since they clamp outward onto the top plate from the inside of the groove channel.

This top plate can handle stock width from 3" all the way to 1". The side plates can be easily adjusted with a 4mm hex key. Underneath the side plate there's a hole with a nylon tipped set screw which allows you to adjust the rotational resistance of the side screws. The standard side plates of the current AR250 also have these nylon tipped set screws if you looked from the back of the rest.

You can see a short video showing a better look of the new top plate by clicking this link Adjustable top plate.mp4. **the final product will later also be anodized black like the rest of the parts, this is just a prototype fresh from machining.

I have just started the production of 400pcs of this new top plate. I hope I can finish them by April or May 2025. I wanted to be able to offer this new top plate along the 3rd batch of AR250 which hopefully can be finished within the next two months but alas I just don't have the capacity for now.

This top plate can be purchased as a standalone upgrade for $149 (only comes with the top plate, 2 side plates, and 3pcs bag. Stopper, bubble, and side screws are not included). I will also include an option to upgrade the AR250 from the standard 1pc bag top plate into the adjustable top plate. New AR250 with the adjustable top plate will cost $735. But I can only offer this upgrade once I have actually finished this first batch of adjustable top.

I am creating a waiting list for those who want to either get the top plate as a standalone or the upgraded AR250 with adjustable top plate. You can direct message me and I will take in your orders.

I would love to hear your thoughts and comments about this new top plate if there's anything else that I should know or improve.

Thank you again for all of you who have supported my business so far and made all of this work possible. I hope I can come up with other useful products for you in the future.

Chris the new top plate is a welcome addition, especially for ARA Factory shooters. I love my AR250 with the addition of some heavy canvas belt sections as pictured below. The new top looks like a much better solution. Please let us know how to order the new top.

It's actually my son's (Christopher Lionel) prototype rest, designed for air rifle / rimfire BR.
The "AR-250"
He designed and made 3 prototype units by himself with his teamwork, I only helped him to make sure the rest and the details are Ok.

1. It's inexpensive (I was told it would be under $700 price range, shipped),
2. It's light and compact, pivot head, with a large retractable column that can be locked very securely.
3. It has extra wide MOA travel in the joystick and also very smooth.

Chris sent two prototype units to Pilzen 2023 and one to Larry for input and feedback.

I was told that someone (Fady from Lebanon) won the 50m Unlimited and set a new world record in Pilzen 2023 using this rest for the first time.
Another one (Bruno/Fabiene Delatre) use the rest and placed 6th in the LV/HV air rifle match.
Probably others, I do not know exactly, yet.
For me that's a sign/proof that the rest works as expected.

A proud father,
seb
