NEW PRODUCT - Vortex's Razor HD 4000 Laser Rangefinder with specs pics and review

Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea Vortex was coming out with a more powerful LRF. I appreciate companies that dont really announce things on a large scale until the product is available.

I like that they went with 7x glass. Doesnt appear to have any ballistics software but I suppose for the price a person cant expect too much.

One thing I noticed is 9.9 oz! Holy smokes that's heavy for its size. I have the Nikon 4K rangefinder (6.3 oz) and can easily pick up pine trees and other non-reflective targets at over 2400 yards so I'm hoping the Vortex can perform better than it did in the review where the farthest range was 2400 yards on a 'reflective' target. I see the Vortex has an 'ELR' mode for ranging farther but it appears the response time is delayed to the point where Vortex recommends using a tripod. I dont like putting LRFs on tripods and I dont like long delays in my readings. Just need more reviews that go further in depth to get a better idea of real world performance.

Nonetheless, I've been in the market for another good powerful LRF. Was debating between getting another Nikon 4K or the new Leica 2800.COM. Now perhaps I will have to throw this new Vortex 4K into the mix.

Thanks again Jason

I've got a couple on the way. I'm excited to get a closer look at them!

Definitely report back with your findings on performance and features. Likes dislikes. Very interested in the unit due to Vortex VIP warranty. Only company that covers LRF electronics for a lifetime along with the optic.

Here's another video about them.

I just got a set of the Fury 5000 bino LRFs or these would have been my choice. Dave from Vortex posted this chart for anyone wanting the specs over at SH. razor 4000.png

Any get this LRF yet and want to share some real world experience?

Looking forward to hearing views and opinions on the unit and what its limits are. Thanks.
