New Vortex Benchrest Scope .... "Golden Eagle HD"

Just got a call from Optics Planet. They said it could be 6 to 10 MONTHS till they get enough inventory from Vortex to fulfill my order. I was figuring sometime in June but looks like I will be waiting a lot longer.

I spoke with them this am. I was told 6-8 months. I thought June also. Oh well......!

I ordered from EuroOptic...No Timeline....but then again, I did not ask....My last match of the season will be in early October, so as long as I get by then, I'm happy

Edit: Just got an Email response to asking....They were told June/July, will just have to see where I am in line

Just returned from Berger SouthWest Nationals where I used this scope all week. I managed to clean the target a couple times and won the daily 1000yd aggregate for Sunday, eventually coming in 5th overall (F/TR). I was really happy with this scope's ability to "see" the subtle changes in mirage that were necessary to do well. I was at 60X for all matches except two specific ones where I dialed to 40X in order to see upwind mirage changes a bit earlier.

How "easy" was this scope to get behind at 60x? I recently had a play around with a March 10-60x52 on a typical Australian summer day in Sydney and was disappointed, as the scope got very dark at 40x and at 60x it was pretty much useless.

This Vortex scope ticks many boxes as far as price and features are concerned, but I'd really like to know how it fares at higher magnification.

Midway says the FCH is expected Next week. I called and they said nothing has changed and it is expected. The other reticle is expected in July/August. So I am hoping I can get one of the FCH if they do in fact get them next week

Australia is in line to receive 200 scopes in June according to the distributor. Vortex increased their initial global production from 2400 to 3000 scopes such has been the demand.

Waiting very impatiently at this point. It's not even to the shipping period I was quoted, and I'm impatient....Really wanting this scope.

It's a bit of a bugger. I'm looking to buy a new scope in June. At first I thought the new March High Master scopes might be available, well they're not out until next year, and the Vortex won't be available in Australia until October now apparently.

I called Vortex two days ago. the CS guy who answers the phone said he "heard" June or July 2016. he did not seem to have direct knowledge but he said he was pretty confident of these dates. i did not get a warm and fuzzy on this in our conversation, but who knows.

Myself and lots of fellow shooters feel that they're as clear as a March. The engineer that designed it shoots F-class with us. We've been comparing and critiquing his prototypes for the past year.

Can't wait until they hit Australia. I'm hearing mid-late July they will land here. I'll be checking it out at our annual SHOT show in a couple of weeks. I hope to buy two of them.
