New hornady ELD-VT bullets

Hope these don't blowup under higher rpms.
I can't vouch for these, but all the other sintered material products I've tried (including Hornady NTX, Barnes Varmint Grenades, lead-free ballistic tip, etc.) can be run fast. I've not heard of any of them coming apart under speed. It is my understanding the BC is not as great as hoped for, but seeing they now have the BC's posted on their website - I'd say these are pretty impressive! .199 G7 and .395 G1. These will be a very nice addition for varmints, for sure.

My 9 twist 223 pushing them at 3100 fps at 3000’ elevation does fine for what it’s worth.

Looking forward to some Varmit testing in next few weeks; only paper punching so far.

Hopefully if volumes go up Hornady will get them priced down to 75 Eldm levels or better; otherwise guys could shy from them for volume shooting. Me included.

But that is exactly why they did as they did with the upper section. It is a VARMINT bullet and intended to blow up on those critters. Will be a good varmint bullet. Many will like it, a few will not, so don't buy it if you think it is not to your liking.
224 62 gr -- It appears "engineers" took the 73 gr eld m, removed 11 grs of lead of the top of the core. This shifted the weight rearward and most likely made the bullet more explosive. So less lead(cheaper especially by the million). Same machines, same jacket, less lead(air is free). Charge more for the "new" product that costs less to produce.

Just received 1000 to try in my .223 and my .22BR, both 8 twist barrels. Should be fun to try these out on fur and steel. Let the games begin.

can't wait to get more input with these from people, I am hoping to rebarrel my 223 next to specifically run these.

I would love to stay 223, but with the way quality brass is headed in the 223 world I may need to go down that 22br path as well.

Make sure you report back with your findings!

My local farm store had some on the shelf today, 29.99/100. I thought the box said 1 in 9 twist required.
Stickers on mine read 1-8" on the bottom of the box.

ETA: I was planning to run them from 1:8 to 1:7 anyway, so for me it doesn't matter, but these have such a different set of mass properties I think the only way to know if 1:9 will work is to try some and see.
