New high for primers?

Hmmmmmm.....I just bought 2000 primers from a club member...for $30 per thousand, hand delivered at the month end match. Maybe I should sell them and fund a new 30 BR barrel!

I have a hard time justifying gouging someone in need. I sold 1K of primers recently to someone for what I paid for them and don't regret it for a minute. I know him and he was in need. I hope he would do the same for me if the shoe was on the other foot. I did put a WTB ad here recently for 30-30 FN or RN bullets. I got several replies and the ones I bought from forum members were all very reasonably priced...no gouging. Thanks for that! IMO its something to remember!!

Do you guys think there are non paying bidders? People just bidding as they are pissed? Or do people actually pay this?? If they are actually paying this I am seriously contemplating selling some. My gosh I could damn near pay my house off.

I could have easily made a quick grand reselling some .300 PRC ammo I had the opportunity to buy if I was like some others out there. Could have used an extra $1,000, but I just couldn't do it. I wasn't raised that way and I have to live with myself.
you get my gold star!

well ya know if i knew somebody and they needed them id sell them for what i had in them or mabie even give them to the person. If someone walks up to me and says hey ill give you 200.00 for those 1000 primers id sell them to them for what they wanted to pay me. no one will ever make me feel bad for selling something to someone for a profit. its the capitalist way.

Yea, that is kinda different when a person sets his own price for an item. I have sold things in the past that I really didn't want to sell but if the person is willing to pay HIS price then so be it.

I recently had a friend express an interest in beginning to reload. I told him now is not the time to get in the game.

I offered to him that all he had to do was come by and I would teach him. He would not need anything as I will provide all necessary components, sans his saved brass, and hopefully when components again become available he can replace what we use for his loads.

I would much rather get another fellow shooter(s) interested in reloading than sell excess powder and primers....even at the prices they are currently fetching.

Most Definitely!! - The “bidders” are part of way to inflate the price.
All that it would take is a seller (who has the primers) and one other person to “push” the price to wherever the seller wants it to be.

A friend of mine is in a similar situation. Fortunately the local shop sold him 200 primers to get going. He’s a hunter so I’m not sure if he will even do load development or just try a book load or two.
