You have to hang in there. I was wondering why I had to wait so long when I felt I needed one , two years ago, and I was just told a couple days ago that the reason I waited longer was so the valve would last longer. Now that I have a new one that sounds better. As long as they keep checking you, they can stay ahead of it we hope. Otherwise, if you have to go to the emergency room because it's that bad, then they will do it. I seems like no matter what you say, unless it's really bad or you get to the hospital in an ambulance, you just have to wait. The last thing I want is for family to take care of me when I can be fixed to take care of them.I am glad that you have had a successful procedure. I have a bad aortic valve and my mitral valve isn’t so great either. But my injection fraction at 40-45 is not bad enough yet, so they say, to do the procedure by an artery as you stated. Also my heart calcium is 1600 and according to their criteria, it would have to be above 2100 to be considered for a valve replacement. So I just have periodic echocardiograms and a cardiac cath. I get out of breath sometimes and have trouble standing up and walking. I just hope they can do the procedure sometime in the future before the condition kills me. In other words, it’s congestive heart failure.
