New Craddock Precision Remington prefit

Here you can see the new Remington prefit from Craddock precision. A completely new approach to the concept of a pre fit. A newly designed nut that includes a newly designed wrench. This is my Bartlein 243 1 in 8 twist that Paul Craddock just delivered to my house where we ate barbecue and talked about the future.

Craddock is ready to start producing Remington pre fit barrels and Savage pre fit barrels in full production. These barrels will set a new standard for accuracy for pre fit barrels.

The nut and wrench are a new design.

as far as the overall quality the idea is to bring CNC high-speed operations and hand fitting together in a way that has never been done before to bring new levels of tolerance to the prefit market. And be able to do it at a reasonable price and at a high enough volume to have a large selection of barrels for the consumer.

Just ordered an AR-15 barrel from Craddock Precision. They quoted $285 for an 18" button rifled Rock Creek. A cut rifled Rock Creek would have been close to double that. Seems like bolt gun barrels would take less work.

Like the crowsfoot type wrench. No need to start it at the muzzle. Less chance of scratching the barrel.

I designed the wrench :)

I'm confident they'll sell very well.

At least for the Savage market, I don't think there are any web-based stores that will spin you up a Bart/Krieger pre-fit barrel direct from a web form; from what I've come across, if you want a "premium" blank used today, you'll be buying the blank and taking it to a smith. That's admittedly more work than I want to put into a Savage, but I'll fill out some drop-downs and hit "confirm order" no problem. I'd bet the well constructed web store-front is half the reason the McGowen outlet does so well.

Well I took your advise about the drop down boxes and the confirm order. No joy the bolt action page says more info to come. They must not be as ready as UR says. Ive been itching to put a nut on a Remington Ive got.

I posted pictures of the first barrel. I am not even sure they are on the web site at all. But you can call the shop in the morning and place the order.

Will a present Savage wrench fit? If it does what is the cost without the wrench? I have a REM 700 LA just waiting for a new barrel. Do we know yet what twists will be available in .25 caliber?

Craddock can order whatever blank you want.

No, a Savage wrench will not fit, but Craddock can supply their wrench.
