New Craddock Precision Remington prefit

That's a really good looking gun. I like it. What level of precision are you looking for?

This is a Bartlein 1-8 in 243. I expect it to shoot like its a Bartlein chambered by a custom gunsmith. It does. These targets were the break in. It didn't really start to hum until the second round through. And that's a 243 not a 6br or ppc. I expect to be able to shoot a lot of 1/4 inch groups with the Berger 108 at 3200 fps velocities if I want. But I think I'm going to shoot that node at 3075.

That answers my questions. Thanks. I can understand the shipping thing and being without a gun for what can be a long time.

That 43.5 is nice little dot. Hopefully that will repeat for you and allow a small powder charge window on both sides of it. I'm sure you are eager to play around with some seating depth too. Good luck to you sir.

In my case, I didn't have a gunsmith. I also don't want to ship off my rifle and let it sit in a safe at some guys shop for six months.

I have both custom cut shouldered barrels and custom made nut barrels. The nut is not a factor. It's the barrel itself and the guy who chambers it that makes the difference.
Nailed it right there . Guessing most naysayers of nutted barrels have never used one . Great looking barrel and rifle you have there, looks like a lot of fun to come. Thanks for sharing, always good to see new folks producing quality products.

550 to 600 when I can get a Shilen stainless select match for 370. I know I'm missing something
I wouldn't put a lot of stock in a Shilen these days, a member called for a reamer print and was told they didn't have it and the reamers were old. WTH

I'm not trying to take away anything from the op. Just didn't understand what makes it so much better than this. .265 moa, Shilen! Not bragging, and it's chamber is rough as a cob but really how important is the chamber? I'm just a rookie and really don't know, but I'm going to buy another Shilen for $370.00 and have in at my door in a week. No offense OP.

Obviously they shoot as most Barrels these days.
A reamer print supplies chamber dimensions, sharp reamers are desirable

I spoke to Paul Craddock last night and told him he should do a run of Bartlein 6bra 1-8 with Alex Wheeler's reamer.

I would suspect they would sell.

Addressing a pm someone sent me.

Just so I am clear I never said that Craddock invented any process He also did not invent the CNC machine, or the rifled barrel.

I do believe that the combination of options that can be chosen at purchase which include being able to choose a contour, using premium blanks from multiple top machine cut barrels manufacturers and hand chambering is unique in the marketplace. I certainly could be mistaken, and I really don't think it's important one way or the other.

Carry on.

Finally got to run the Berger 20190127_214859.jpg 108 up to max. Note the velocity. The bottom group was during a blustering wind that wouldn't quit.
