Got a new Bench Source Vertex on the way. Just wondering if any of you with experience using them have any tips or pointers to share that will make operation/set-up easier or more productive? Thanks.

I got one recently also. Congrats. I think you will be pleased. Really no tips to offer though. The thing is easy to set up and is fairly fast. I did purchase both Templilaqs they recommend in the manual for the first setup. After that when I do more of the same caliber I just verify with the lower temp stuff on the base instead of putting both on. You will be happy.

Great to hear. Could you possibly provide me with the info on those tempilaqs? Manufacturer, temp rating, etc... That way I can order them in advance and will hopefully have them by the time the machine arrives. Thanks so much :)

+1 i use the 475 degree on the base and 650 degree painted as a ring around the case just below the body/shoulder junction, when the 650 starts to turn translucent thats my time.

Get a 20lb lp tank with a splitter. First, you'll be g2g for a long long time. Second, you won't have the weight of the little 1lb tanks hanging off the torches.

My local Cabelas had the splitter and connectors on the the shelf. $40ish.

What the heck? What do you need that for?? You should chat with Tom, He has it dialed in.... I think he runs a pressure reg also, so that you dont need to mess with torch settings every time.
are you doing big cases?

I had no idea he had one ??? I will give him a call for sure.
Gonna be annealing everything from 20 VarTarg to 375 Ruger and everything in between so I'm sure temps will have to be adjusted accordingly for different calibers and manufacturers of brass. I know Tom has his fair share of various chamberings. I'm sure he can give me some good tips too.

The use of a pressure regulator is a very good idea for consistent heating. I will do that as well. Thanks Derek :)

Here is the manual from their website. It shows their recommended Tempilaq. 350-400deg for the base and 650 for the neck. Also mine didnt come with torches. The ones they recommend are in the manual too.

At some point I'm going to run hoses to a big tank. That sounds like a great idea along with a pressure regulator.
