New 6XC build

I just received this back from the smith (Alamo Precision Rifles) that put it together for me. It is a 6XC (Tubb) built on a Borden Mountaineer @Jim Borden with a Gary Schneider barrel 1:7 P5 finished at 30", TT diamond, all finished up in a JAE gen 2 chassis and a ZCO 5-27 MPACT 2.

Off to the range at sunup... thanks for indulging me.28256485-CCA8-42DB-97F7-45A8A97A13C2.jpegC5181D94-E2AE-4FAC-9182-5A1428820E09.jpeg

Nice looking rifle. Which bullet were you planning to shoot?

My bud spun up a 6XC long neck (.400) and throated for 115 DTAC rbt around .150, .010 off. I haven't chronied yet but showing a lot of promise at 250yds. That should be a wind cheater.
I have some 115 Bergers to try as well.

I spun mine up with Tubbs reamer and to his stats for 115 DTACS it is a flat wind cheating machine, very pleased indeed

I pondered along time on whether to build a 6xc, a 6GT or 6mmARC..I already shoot a 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC bolt guns. And a 6mmARC Gas Gun.I wanted to build a 6mm ARC because I really like it and have the stuff like dies and brass, bullets. I wanted to kind of cut back on powder too because my 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC use up a bottle quickly. I shoot mainly at 600 yards and 1000 & 1500 yards.
Any wayI went with a 6GT for now. Ive never shot a 6XC. Compared to the 6.5Creedmoor what do you think you gainedor lost in shooting 1000yards?Thanks.

I shoot 6.5 CM, 260 AI, 6.5 PRC, and now 6XC in this class of gun. I have not finished load development on the XC yet but preliminary findings are very positive. It shoots DTAC's a full mil flatter at 1100 yards compared to my 260 and 6.5 CM and cheats the wind. The current load is pushing 115's at 3050 but still breaking in the barrel so will be a bit before I have any final data. Easy out to 1300 yards which is my current max without having to make a full day trip. Hope this answers your question.
