New 30BR barrel work up

Is there such thing as a “no turn” 30BR reamer?
I'm sure there is but if that is what you want I'd tell JGS to make this reamer in the neck diameter for your unturned brass with the neck clearance you want.

That was my thought, too. I’ve been looking at that print a lot. I just kind of want one because I think it would be a hilarious little cartridge.

It's not a great long range cartridge but I've never seen anything as easy to tune and make shoot as a 30BR or 30 Major. Those little 30's are just phenomenally accurate and forgiving. Other than a tad bit of recoil, it's just hard to find a big flaw with either one. The biggest difference between those is, of course a BR fits a BR bolt face and the Major fits a PPC bolt face and has a tad smaller capacity but not enough to drive any big changes for better or worse, IMHO. They both flat shoot and are a great choice to learn with, especially in regard to tuning. Nothing I've ever seen tunes as easily. It's kinda hard(seemingly) to make one not shoot. Lol!

I agree with you. I've never seen anything as easy to tune as the 30BR. From what I had seen from my 700 BR rifle I knew my Model 7 Hunter would be a shooter but I had no idea it would shoot as accurate as it does. I have to give credit to my builder O D C R (WSMNUT) here on the site for these and many other jobs well done.

What are you hunting with the model 7 and at what range? I have kicked around the idea of building one for hunting.
