Need spotting scope

Hello all, this is my first post.

But down to buisness. I need to step up my spotting scope for some longer distance shooting. I plan on shooting rimfire up to 300m or so and centerfire up to 500m or so. What do you all suggest i buy? weight and size dont matter. Only optical quality....and lets be humble with cost if possible too.

I was even thinking about getting a telescope although that might be the wrong chain of thought.

Any imput would be greatly appreciated

Use the search function, and read about spotting scopes. Your question has been asked dozens, if not hundreds, of times, on shooting forums everywhere.

The Kowa TSN 821 series w/angled eyepiece in a fixed 27pwr or a variable, which ever strikes your fancy. You can paymore for other brands, but you are unlikely to better the optical quality of this line of scope. Ck the KOWA brand at www.champchoice.com

Tom,

Go to the article archives and read my spotting scope review. The Pentax 80mm with the 20-60 zoom eyepiece is in my opinion the best bang for the buck for those on a budget. A guy who advertises on E-bay, and also here sometimes goes by gr8fuldoug1 has pretty good prices on that scope. Right now on E-bay for $1149.99.
If you can't find him check out some of the camera shops on line.

Danny

Pentax PF80 ED. Optics are excellent. Get the Angled version, it has a rotating collar wich you can use at your bench.
As previously mentioned call cameraland in NY, from Doug. Don't buy off the internet as he may have a deal for you. Talking to them may get you headed in the right direction for your budget.
