Need some help on vertical problem .30br

Hello all!

Maby you guys can help me out with the vertical problem i have with my .30br
Thing is in every serie of 25 targets, 2 or more bullets fall like a stone for some reason (look at target 18 and 19)
It cost me importend points in matches and i would like to ask for your wise opinion:)

Rifle:
Im using a rem 700 action with a Lilja .30br 26" 1/17 twist with 3 grove and a .330 neck

Round:
Lapua 6mmbr necktup to .30 cal
trimmed to 1.500.
Neckturned them to loaded round meassure .328
Using VV N130 34.8 grain
Berger 115 bullet
Cci br4 primer.

Shooting style:

Shooting prone with bipod at 100meters.
No hard shoulder just a little toutch.
Cheek is hardly touching the stock and the thumb for grip is not used.

I don't remember a match where a few shooters did not experience the same mysterious "dropped shot(s)". IMHO, it's venue related (characteristic of individual ranges and many times can be isolated to a few benches).....i.e. something is happening out there which is hard to pick up even with a field of flags......usually slow moving mirage. My advice is to study the target in the scope (high magnification) and try to pick up those periods when the reticle wanders away from the bull and correlate that to what the flags are doing at that specific moment.

I'd go to about 34.5 grains of H4198 with the bullet jammed .008-.010 and a .324 or .325 neck bushing, for starters. I use a tuner and firmly believe in them. Always use flags...especially during load work up. This combination is a proven one that works in most 30 br rifles quite well. Beyond that it pretty much comes down to rest setup, gun handling, rifle, scope, etc. An inexpensive item that can cause goofy stuff is the firing pin spring.

Mark the case, it’s not usually the reason ,but I have seen a case that would not print with the rest ! Also Gun handling to light or to much shoulder pressure ! # of Things can cause this and it can be very frustrating ! My Hunter gun was giving me fits on spitting a shot Up and I finally realized it was my gun handling, to much free recoiling was the difference it all came down to shoulder pressure ! Now if I could do something about the wind LOL !!!

I didn’t even notice, but some old post are still interesting reads, and a lot of new shooters that are having issues related can still gain info, If I find it interesting I will read it, Old Dogs can learn something also !!! I’m not Tony Boyer, so learning new stuff by reading is a real possibility LOL !

I don't mind at all, it still can be interesting info and maybe everyone hasn't seen it. It seems some people just have to show how smart they are.
