Question FL problem 30br

Maby you guys can help me out with this.
I fireformed my 6mmbr brass to 30br.
Now i need to full lenght them by using my redding FL die with bushing.
Thing is as i run them throug the FL die some brass is not the right size while others are.
I read some people use the Harrel's custom FL dies with a set bushing in it.
I have my reamer sheet from Robinett for the info Harrel's need.
But if they make this die will this fix the problem with non consistent brass size?
Any of you have any experience with this die?

You need to explain this in detail:

"Thing is as i run them throug the FL die some brass is not the right size while others are."

Do you mean wrong in overall length; body size; neck or shoulder, etc? I use Harrells FL dies and they are excellent.

Hello,
I think its the shoulders becouse some brass as it run troug the same FL die wont fit as the others do fit perfect.
So with a harrel's u dont have this problem?
And do u use it for a 30br brass?
Thx for helping out!

Yes, my Harrels is a 30BR F/L die. Send them $75 and three fired cases. You will get a good fit die, and also for free - a cup that goes upside down against the shoulder. The cup will give you spot on shoulder measurements with a caliper.

Ok nice!
One thing my cases wont fit after firing so how do they know when sending them my fired cases they pick the right FL Die?

My take on this is thatperhaps you are experiencing the normal trait for brass to work harden at different rates....or... since you are also fireforming you may have not subjected each round to the same conditions i.e.- bullets into the lands to ensure the base contacts the bolt head (which forces brass flow forward only), or you may have lubed cases unevenly (if you prescribe to the theory that properly lubing cases aids in better control of FF dimensions -of which I believe is necessary).
If you are certain the sizing difference lies in the shoulder setback.....simply adjust the FLS to bump the offending cases until they are the same dimension as the others.
In making 30 BR cases it takes two firings to fully form to chamber dimensions and that's if it's done right.

I take it the fired cases fit your chamber? You are fire forming in your rifle? If so, then you are doing something wrong to the case during resizing. Did you try chambering a formed case in the gun?
Either you have a bad set of dies. Not likely. Or, you are over sizing your cases and creating a mushroom shoulder. What I mean by that is, if you over size your case, you can push the shoulder down and out, creating a mushroom like shoulder. You can usually see it and feel it if you run your fingers up the case from the bottom to towards the top.
I just can't see any other reason for your newly formed case not to fit your chamber unless the case length is too long. You are using Lapua brass, aren't you?

If you decide to go with the Harrell's die, fire the brass 3 times and only neck size between firings before you send it to them.
