NEED 8X40 CAP SCREWS 1" BAD

Hi Neighbors, may be wrong place to post but I need four 8 x40 cap screws to mount a pair of Bat rings. They can be longer than 1", I can cut them off. The ones I have are just holding by .052 and the holes are .160 in depth on the action.

Tried both Rodger, along with several machine supply houses in Little Rock. 3/4" is long as they have. They have 8/32 in all length, no 8/40 . Brownell has blanks but the darn 8/40 dies are $25, but Imay have to go that route.

Drill and counter bore the rings .100" deeper?

Thought about that but the rings are polished and I can't figure a way to clamp them securely in a mill vice without scaring them. That would be the easiest thing to do.
It just seems someone would have them 1" or longer.

Just use index cards when clamping in the vice.You dont need much pressure to do a tiny milling job like this.
