Neck- vs. Full-Length Resizing

I already know all that stuff, or once did and forgot about it.

No ammo shoots groups all the time smaller than die or cartridge tolerance units.

Enough already.

My preference is to do partial (about 2/3) neck resizing. You can do it with a neck resizer or a FL die. I think it works particularly well for factory chambers which are looser in the neck than a custom tight neck chamber. With reasonable loads I'm not sure what the limit is on number of time you can do it. With the Forster Bushing Bump die you can bump the shoulder and only do a partial neck resize. Best of both worlds. Suspect you can do it many times without a full resize. That is what I do with my 6BR and I have no FL die, nor have needed one.

I'm using Norma 6 PPC brass. I gather most PPC shooters use Lapua 220 Russian brass and fire-form. I wanted to eliminate the fire-forming task, so bought 100 formed Norma cases.

I also have a .22 PPC (a Wichita Classic rifle), and Norma .22 PPC cases are available, so I'll use those for that rifle too.

Although off-topic, maybe this would be a good time to get opinions about Norma PPC brass.

Maybe you should start new post
