I've used Unique for years and it seems to work well as a case lube. But there is a potential problem

this is good info. i'll take your word for it w/out testing. thx

Only lube the outside of the cases, 99% isopropyl alcohol and lanolin mix. Carbide expander mandrel for inside the neck final sizing barely does any work anyway so the remaining carbon in the case neck plus the carbide makes for effortless sizing.

Agree on needing to let the alcohol evaporate before sizing. I find if go right into sizing after annealing the brass, the warm brass has that alcohol evaporated off in no time flat!

I have tried about a half dozen different methods, ended up where I started way back when I was a pup. RCBS Case Lube. I lube, full FL body bumping the shoulder, followed by Neck sizing. I then remove the lube by dropping the cases in Acetone and then dry before priming and loading.
Use to try lubing the bullets before seating, that caused issues with the powders and my ES so stopped doing that. No change in seating pressure as I anneal every firing and have gone to a loose collar in my Redding S-Type Neck Sizer.

Well, I use the homemade Bootleg case lube of liquid lanolin and the red Iso Heet. 12 to 1 mixture. I lay my brass on a cookie sheet with the case mouths toward me, and spray at a low angle. Hits the inside and outside of the case necks, and the outside of the case from the shoulder down. Give the tray some shakes and the brass rolls around to coat the entire outside of the case.

Makes pulling the expander (and I use carbide) back through the neck sooooo smooth. A very smooth sizing action that you don't ever get dents with. I just toss them in some fine corn cob media for 30 minutes in a tumbler to remove all the media.

I read about an old home made lube using anhydrous lanolin and automatic transmission fluid. Melt the lanolin over low heat...can't microwave as it is "anhydrous"...without water. Add some transmission fluid...amount varies, and let cool. VERY slick. Downside...have to wipe off cases.
