Best lube

This is starting to seem like a thread where everyone is just naming the one or two lubes they have. How many have actually used them all?

I've used RCBS, Hornady 1 shot, Imperial wax, Lyman lube, Frankford lube, and tried just about other big brand name and homemade concoction over the years...Cant even remember them all. They all work to some degree, but none of them work as good for for case lube as Hobo Oil sold by 'group therapy'.

Still have Imperial, Hornady, RCBS, and Frankford lube on hand but they just collect dust. I'll give them all away to anyone willing to pay shipping.

Ive tried quite a few lubes and for small batches of difficult cases I hand lube(WSMs) case and neck with Lee lube on fingers. If I have a large batch like 5.56 or 7.62 in the 100s I use an inch of Lee lube some 95% isopropyl alcohol , bunch of flannel cleaning patches in a gallon zip lock. Shake rattle and roll for a minute, dump and size wet or dry. Warm water will remove, then dry. If I have a beastly sizing job like LC 7.62 down to 6mmX47L/44mmBR w/o annealing. RCBS case lube one pass into a 6.5 BR form die then follow with a pass into a 6mmX44BR fl die. Slick as snail snot. And water takes it off. I dont know if I havea bad batch of"Imperial" or not but Ive found it to be one of the least effective lubes. I wouldnt even consider it to try the case forming I just mentioned. FL sizing, WSM, the effort on the press handle is at least 1:2 RCBS/Lee v. Imperial. If someone wants it feel free to contact me; free +shppg
Other options like castor oil or mink oil or lanolin all work wonderfully but they are a bit of trouble to remove from the cases. Wonder about HOBO oil , is it jojo bean oil? That would be an exceptional lubricant. Primary ingredient in some "synthetic" lubes.

Everyone likes 'whatever" BUT which ones are the easiest to clean off the case ??
When I size 300 (+-) 223 case with Pam the cases are dropped into a bucket with Dawn.
Imperial is another story when I use it on 308 / 7.62 cases. They get dropped into the bucket and when I'm through sizing one of the industrial house cleaners is added then H20 is added and the cases are tumbled between two buckets.
Even 1X FGGM & LC LR cases are a PITA to FL size. even though they are claimed to be fried in " bolt guns " and AR's only

The only two cases I have stuck in dies has been with one shot....so other choices work better for me.

powdered black graphite applied with one of these

or

Lee sizing wax on a q tip, easy does it, a tiny bit will do you after dry brushing. Use this especially before using any die with an expander ball and your run out goes to nothing.

Liquid Lanolin + isopropanol.
Lube 500 cases in 60 seconds.
Tumble off in 45 mins (about the time to size the next 500).

Imperial sizing wax, the stuff just works and a small tin lasts forever. When I got a case stuck in a Redding die, they sent me a can of imperial sizing wax. No more stuck cases.

I first tumble my cases, Then RCBS or REDDING lube water soluable, roll on a pad. Qtip inside of necks. Size and then put on pegs in dish water. Hot water wash and dry cycle. They come out clean and dry ready to load. Dish washer doesn't overheat the brass. My dish washer holds 108 cases on the pegs

Imperial wax if I’m only doing a small amount of cases and RCBS lube and pad for 10 or more. I can run 10 cases of BR or 284 at once over the pad, have 50+ lubed in minutes, size them then throw them in the tumbler for 30min to remove lube. For the guys that find the lube pad messy maybe your using to much lube.

I have tried many different products.....this is where I ended up after ~20 years

I’ve used imperial wax for years and love it. But I just ordered some hobo oil, sounds intriguing!

I use homemade from a spray bottle, if I lube one case at a time, big mess. Spray, let sit 30 min to 7 days, size 300 cases. Dump in towel to wipe off excess, tumble in corn, I do not lube necks, inside or out on purpose.
