I also lube the necks with this dry lube the again before seating.I typically am just fine with a lanolin spray (or one-shot if you dont make your own) that I spray on the outside but some makes it in the necks still . At one point I needed to lube and chose this route, a carbide expander rendered the lube less necessary so I only use it occasionally now.

Imperial sizing wax, and imperial dry neck lube media are the two best that I know of
I share your admiration for jepp2's work here, but I prefer a plastic bag, the same lube, a few brisk shakes, and some sensuous rubbing. Works great and my Jelly Rolls are unaffectedOMG jepp2. . .
Those two are great to use. Also, a long time Benchrest Shooter and Gunsmith just turned me on to a lube named "Unique Case Lube" that has the Hornady name on it. It's sorta like Imperial Sizing wax and I'm testing it right now. So far I can't tell much of a difference in the two other than price, with Imperial costing about $3 more. Info only.

I too got turned on to the tub of "Unique Case Lube". I discovered shortly after buying my first small tub that it is nothing more than re-branded mink oil. Yes, the same stuff you buy in big cheap tubs to waterproof your boots. I've been using regular old mink oil for resizing and reforming my good brass for 20 years now.
I also use it inside the case neck applied very sparingly with a nylon brush. Expender balls and mandrels glide through the necks.
For mass quantities of 223 brass I use Dillon lube or my own 1:12 mixture of lanolin and 91% isopropyl alchohol.
I use the same mixture of lanolin and red liquid Heet . I clean my die before use with carb cleaner then spray the die with the lanolin and let it set. Put my brass in a zip lock bag and give it about 8 sprays and move it around in the bag. Let them sit for about 15 min in open air . Never had a problem yet. Tumble them to get the lube off. It is very slick and I don't get dented necks from too much lube. I tumble with SS pins and when I seat the bullet I use the Imperial Dry Neck Lube before seating. Feels better than just clean necks. Bullet seats easier.Well, I use the homemade Bootleg case lube of liquid lanolin and the red Iso Heet. 12 to 1 mixture. I lay my brass on a cookie sheet with the case mouths toward me, and spray at a low angle. Hits the inside and outside of the case necks, and the outside of the case from the shoulder down. Give the tray some shakes and the brass rolls around to coat the entire outside of the case.
Makes pulling the expander (and I use carbide) back through the neck sooooo smooth. A very smooth sizing action that you don't ever get dents with. I just toss them in some fine corn cob media for 30 minutes in a tumbler to remove all the media.

Welllllll, one of the guys at Kelbly turned me in a totally different direction.
I just rub a little Carmex Lip Balm on the necks and move on.
WOW, I haven't heard of that mixture being used by anyone in about 5 yrs, but been told it's good stuff. Now IMHO the Dillon lube isn't worth a crap. I bought some to use to resize some .308 LC Match brass (about three years ago) using a Small Base Die (for a new tight chamber .308) and I darn near had to pry the casings out of the die and I was giving the casings a liberal coating of the Dillon Lube. Thank goodness I had some RCBS Lube2 which was fantastic for my purpose at the time. But your comment about the Hornady Lube doesn't really surprise me. I've just never been all that impressed with anything Hornady makes except their Bullet Puller. Bought that sucker about 10 yrs ago and I still believe it's the best available after trying other models on the market.
