N140 or N150/6 Dasher

Which one should I purchase to try first? Will be shooting Berger 105 VLD only. Would be nice to only purchase one and be done. Lol! Any and all advice is appreciated.

Looking through this thread, looks like a lb of each to me.
Working on a 20BR and trying to gain info/knowledge on VV powders and burn rates on different bore sizes.
If you find some 140, you better snag it.

N150 works very well in my Dashers and is wholly interchangeable with Varget to the 100th of a grain with no real change in speed, Sd etc.

A buddy and I were practicing recently at 600 yds over our shot marker and once I went on record I had 12 left of my Varget load and 8 of N150. Same length measured 105 hybrids, Alpha brass, br4 primers, 32.6 grns and same oal. It was a 200 and mid teen x count with an even mix of random ly placed non x's and around 2 inches of vertical.

Big fan of N150

Back in the AR days 540 was a wash !
N140 or R -15 worked overtime.
6br
N140= 2780 fps
N540= 2880 fps
Both are my rifles accuracy node, what's ironic is I see alot of 6BRA's running at 2920 with Varget or 4895.

Looking at numbers alone I've come to the conclusion about 2 things...
First, I don't need to go 6BRA
Second, Hodgdon will not get any more money from me.

Our SW AZ temperature (at sunrise when we most often shoot) from winter to summer varies from 26 degrees in January to 90-95 in Aug.

Have you noticed 140 to be less or more temp sensitive? I've never tried it in my Dasher.

I noticed that slower speed from an earlier post in this thread. I get 3026-3040 fps consistently throughout the year with 105 Hybrids and 32.6 grains of either Varget or 150
I loved the drier climate out west when I shot my Dasher. The air density/humidity in the south won't allow me to shoot that much n150 in my Dasher.I bet the case fill is great at 32.6. I may load a case and see how it looks and then dump it back out. My load of 150 is at 30.0 and a 450 with a Berger 105 vld avg 2966fps. I'm using Lapua brass and have gotten s.d. of 1.7. It seems as the brass gets work hardened that great s.d. slips away. The next challenge for me will be an annealer of some type. I also like the cooler burn temps of the VV 100 series of powders when shooting a fast string.
