N 135 Update

Loaded up 25 rounds of 30.0 N135 with Bart's Avengers.
These gave five, five shot groups averaging .283 at 100 yards
I'm using old brass that has been annealed, trimmed and have had the necks just skimmed
to be donut free and consistant size wise.
I will work with the old brass to a point and then will be loading with some new Lapua brass i found after looking
for ages.
Next I loaded 25 with 30.5 and they gave a .460 average for five groups.
I did retest the 30.5 because there was a breeze the first time and I was not sure how much that was effecting my groups.
30.5 groups both times opened up tp .407 and .440.
Next step will be three five shot groups with 30.0 to verify and three at 29.7 and three at 29.4.
I have heard that the nodes usually around 6 tenths.

Instead of 5 five shot groups .5 grains apart I'd shoot one three shot group of,
29.6
29.8
30.0
30.2
30.4

That will find the center of the node with a lot less rounds fired. It may well be 30.0 but taking .5g powder jumps will likely miss the sweet spot.

Edit, or skip the 30.4 and do 29.4 if you're looking lower

Guns,
That is the plan.
Jack Neary says a lot of shooters miss the high node being overly cautious.
In the fav 6BR loads on this forum, there is a load with 65 gr bullets at 3400+ FPS so there is room to go up.
I have seen 3300.
I will need to check my records.
My BBL has about 400 rounds through it so I don't think it will be getting any faster?

My set up is a Rem 700 SA trued, JC Custom straight 26" 4 groove 10 twist barrel chambered with a Manson reamer with a .2725 neck Saami min on the body and zero free bore. My load is 32.2 grs of N-135 under a 64 gr stinger in a Laupa case lit with a CCI450 at .010 jam First 600 rounds of the barrel i was in the mid to high 1's. Now at over 1200 rounds it shoots in the mid 2's. This is at 100 yds.

Murray,
Sounds sweet.
I'm running a Savage LRPV with a Urbanrifleman Wilson barrel.
.030 freebore shooting Bart's Avengers as I mentiond.
I have found .010 into the lands seems to be a good place.
I will be stepping up the charge and watching for pressure.
CCI 400 primers and Lapus brass.

@Gary C
Sounds good only I would keep an eye on the CCI 400 primers. I've used them for fire forming but was told that they don't like pressure. I believe they were more suited to lower pressure rounds like 22 Hornet, 218 Bee etc.
cci 400's aren't as weak as people lead them on to be, they will definitely crater more than a 450 though. i'm probably about 2000 deep of them with my 223 running 3500-3600 fps loads with 53 vmax with a sloppy remington firing pin hole and never had a single issue.
