That is WAY COOL, I would have never have thought of anything like that. Carl in Yakima

Heck...nothing wrong with your set-up at all...It's great!!!!! It really is an advantage
as when the grass gets tall your able to keep shooting when everybody else is done...:D

Both those Riggs are pretty awesome just curious though how is the trailer in the wind does it move a lot.
I took an old cargo van and cut the top open and put a shooting bench tall inside and just covered the hole with canvas when not being used worked well for a long time till the transmission went out now it's sitting in the woods use it as a deer blind LOL

Ya can't see the two stabilizer jacks welded on the back of the trailer. There is one in the front two in the back
and of course the wheels .....so it's fairly stable in light winds. I also put some cross angle iron to help. There
is enough room for two shooters but when one is about to shoot the other has to be still...so ya better get along
with your shooting buddy....LOL. There are what we call rock chucks up here in Kooky Kalifornia...they mostly
stay in the rock piles and many times close to the alfalfa. They look exactly like any other ground hogs back east.
They are only out from about Feb. to May and then back in their dens for 8 months.

I've considered doing the trailer thing myself since in WI were not allowed to shoot out of vehicles. Not out of the back of a pickup or off the top of a roof rack or anything. I role my bench up on the trailer to gain a couple feet but something high like yours would be even better

It looks like those wheels came off of a civil war cannon. that's a stout table, but I would need a pillow to sit on. good thing you are a young man. LOL

The wheels are off of a tilt a whirl powerjack cart actually. They work well on uneven ground. And their heavy

Dude!!!....I live in Kookie Kalifornia which has more nonsense laws than anywhere in the country! I would expect that most
people would read the fish and game laws before they go out and pursue their favorite varmint or game. The guy in WV should have done his research on the laws in his state. It does piss me off that there are so many laws against good common sense. When high up on a shooting platform it is harder for a bullet to skip and hit wheel lines etc. as your shot is placed in a downward angle. Our soldiers fight for our freedoms and the very freedom they fight for is taken away by idiots in our own country!!!...........ah sorry:( rant over......o_O:)

My first thought was when i saw your photos was.. "where is the umbrella and my mint julip!"

I love that Doc!!! I'l have to remember to bring that next time out! Semper Fi Bro!!!!!!!

I love to see what other rat shooters come up with for the tall alfalfa. Once it gets about 6"-8", it's "head & shoulders" shooting....IF the little buggers stand still long enough to get on 'em.

One of our ranchers here encourages us to use his ranch vehicles to set our benches upon. It's all private property, so no issues here in Oregon, and allows us the much coveted elevation to look down into the alfalfa.

Before he sold some old flatbed semi-trailers, it was elevation heaven with the added height.

One year he gave us one of the old USFS fire trucks to set up on.

But the epitome is to have your own elevated shooting platform, and for those that went to all the work and effort to build them, my hat's off to you! I'm sure Skippy and his pals appreciate all the effort! ;)

Pacificman: Good job there, sir!
