Target shooting trailer

I've been thinking about one of these for a few years now and have never gotten around to building one and have never really seen one. First question is does anyone out there have a trailer that they've built/modified into a mobile shooting platform? I'd like to be able to pull one to different areas of my farm and set up to shoot and thought you guys might be able to give me some pointers on what to do and more importantly what not to do. I'll start by saying that what I'm considering will probably be around 10 feet long and 6 feet or so wide, single axle with jacks at all four corners for stability. Haven't decided on the bench yet, thinking of something out of steel or maybe mount a concrete table of some type to it. Lets hear your ideas and opinions.

They are very popular with varmint shooters, especially those who hunt ground squirrels.

CAVEAT:
Be sure to check the hunting regulations for your area. In some states if you shoot from a trailer when it's connected to a vehicle it's considered shooting from a vehicle and may be unlawful. The trailer cannot have any physical connection to the vehicle. It doesn't matter if you're hunting or target practicing - if shooting from a vehicle is illegal they'll still nail ya.

I tried shooting from a trailer setup for that purpose and have shot from the bed of a pickup with bench installed. I didn't like either very well. I shoot varmints and the wind is always blowing it seems. The wind will rock the trailer and the pickup enough to disrupt an accurate shot. It seems to me that the higher you are off the ground the more the wind affects you. The trailer was equipped with some hydraulic jack stabilizers that were put down and they help but I guess I prefer to be closer to the ground on a solid bench setup. Good luck.

I have a trailer like you describe. Use jack stands on all four corners. Have to get the tires off the ground and its stable. Handy.
