My new Savage 12 BTCSS is hording copper

Do you ever stop to think about the question you are asking and what may happen? Thank you all very much, it gives me a lot of options. I think I will lap this winter and see what I get and shoot P Dogs this summer in N. AZ. After that I will ask about what make of barrel to go with if I don't what I want. I still have my 243 to fall back on that completely blew my wife an I away last week. Was doing well with 55 B/Ks but tried the 58 Z Max . Firing 3 shots at a target and moving on to a new target gave us a problem as she could only find one hole, still had 3 test rounds left so why not use same target. Round 4 one hole time to walk 100 yards and see what was going on. Could tell it was more than one so we put a cover on the back side, next shot walk back out yep hole in rear. If you ever shot 9 ball you know what I felt like with the 9 ball sitting in the pocket. Yep choke 6 rounds at .360 my wife says she hopes I get my P Dog gun ready in time.

The barrel in my Enfield gauge photo was cut rifling and made to strict military standards. Meaning the Enfield barrel was better made than button rifled barrels made today. ;)

So your saying if I was to use a Enfield take-off barrel, it would be more accurate and clean easier then any of my Shilen, McGowen, etc. button hand lapped barrels....hmmm, interesting !

Can you share your proof (targets, air-gauged profiled specs, etc.).

And by the way, the Lilja barrel in the video you share, is a buttoned rifled barrel.

Don't put your words in my mouth when the subject was standard factory made button rifled savage barrels. Since we have traded heated PMs in the past I will write you off as being a smart a$$ with a hidden agenda.

Have a nice day and remember what I said in my PM. ;)

The Tubbs system actually worked on my Savage .308 Weather Warrior. The last 2, 3 shot groups were .382" & .537" c-t-c. This was using a Leupold 2.5 X 8 Vari-X III scope.
