i use my hawkeye everytime i clean my guns. one tends to get complacent during repetitive actions, so i got used to the "clarity". yesterday i noted a piece of lint when checking to see if i had removed the carbon ring. i removed the angled eyepiece and cleaned all lens surfaces with lens cleaner and q-tips. did the same for the angled mirror...several times. reassembled and looked into the bore...HOLEY MOLEY! it was as if i had had a cataract removed! i could see the very faint reamer marks in the freebore and on the slope of the lands and the edges of the lands were clear and sharp. i kicked myself for not paying attention. now i'm going to clean all my scopes lenses.
