hawkeye borescope

i have one and i use it frequently. i have it adjusted such that i can see very clearly, until recently. i have the right angle eyepiece and started noting a fuzziness and loss of clarity. i cleaned the mirror and end of the fiber optic to no avail. a friend wanted me to look in his barrel at the range on sunday so i took the scope apart to put it in the carrying case...THERE WAS THE PROBLEM! the glass/lens of the right angle piece was cloudy! cleaned with the cleaning solution and VOILA... crystal clear! ther is dirt, etc in the air we breath! i'll check this more often.

Hawkeye learning curve.

There is a lens that screws in and out under the green eyepiece. I have found the green eyepiece uses a roll pin to adjust the underlying lens for focus. From time to time the inner lens screws all the way in and will not adjust. If you remove the green eyepiece and back out the inner lens then re insert the green eyepiece it will give you the necessary focus. The 90 degree adapter fits onto this green eyepiece. There is some fine adjustment with the ocular lens of the 90 degree adapter.

A second thin I have done is make some Delran sleeves (caliber specific) that use o-rings to keep them in place to keep my Hawkeye bore scope centered in the barrel. I have the camera and computer software and this is a must for good pictures.
