MY BEST FRIEND

jonbearman

I live in new york state, how unfortunate !
I have had Norman a German Short Hair Pointer for some 12 years. He originally was my ex wive's dog and she gave him and a female to me. Since then Jenny passed away some 4 years ago and now Normy is nearing the end and I cant believe how hard it is hitting me. I just would like some prayers he makes it through this weekend but I just don't know. His hind legs are getting very weak and that is what we will judge when to put him to sleep. I know this is off topic but our Dog's are man's best friend . Dog's only ask for kindness and food and a nice place to sleep yet they never judge us they only Love us from birth till the end. We ought to have a national holiday to honor every Dog(God spelled backwards) like service Dog's right on down to lap Dog's. They can be bad but we forgive them immediately, they can be sneaky but then we laugh. We are sick and they will lay right in your bed till you recover. They protect you right up to a fight and will give their precious life to protect us. They are a gift from God.

Totally understand your situation. We have lost 3 German Shepherds over our 54 years of marriage. I have to do a double take every time I see one. Would have another one in a heart beat but my wife says that she just couldn't stand losing another one and odds are it may outlive us.

Normy is in yours's & God's hands. I miss Cookie, Radar, Kylie, The Dukester, Lumpy, Addie & Bernie. They all had the life of Riley & a merciful end. I smile at all dogs, I want another brace of bums to bird hunt with. It has been too quiet around my house. mikeinct

I have lost so many best friends over the years and they have all had 4 paws. Each one of them left an empty spot in my heart that will never be filled but I certainly would go thru it all over again with them even knowing the amount of pain I would have again. Everyone is different in how they handle things but what always seemed to help me was to get another pup as soon as possible. Not to replace the one I just lost but to help fill the void left by the one that had passed.
Prayers to you brother, I feel your pain.

I know your pain. Sorry for your loss.I just picked up the ashes of our 17 year old Dachshund. She passed last Saturday. She was a great dog!! She had spunk!! My wife wants to get two new Dachshund puppies. I want a Shepherd!

Sorry for your loss. I know your pain all to well. They are truly family. I’m sure you have gave him the best life he could have asked for. I’ve found it helps to rescue another animal and give it a better life. Not that you are forgetting about them but I feel that’s what they would want us to do if they could tell us. Prayers.
