My best friend

Thought i would share a few pictures with you guys of the best friend i have ever had. I would not give her up for all the money in the world. She is a little over 5 and have had her since she was a pup and had her flown here to where i live. She is a South African Boer Boel and the love of my life ;D

goodonya Dan. As a fellow dog lover, I know what you mean. If it was a matter of selling the house to afford vet care for the 4-legged kids, it's gonna be apartment time for us.

If there are no dogs in heaven, then I want to go where they went. (Courtesy of Will Rogers...)

I hear ya. I work for the county i live in and travel through out it. I see alot of stuff that just breaks my heart.

She is a hand full at 140 pounds. Solid as a concrete wall. We spend and do alot together all the time. I don't know what i would do with out her.

I miss my deceased best friend every day. Somehow the cat is just not the same! Have a friend with a Doberman who I swear is my dog reincarnated! Same mannerisms in play and temperament. Uncanny.

Beautiful animal, Dan. What were they bred for, if I may ask? Any hip probs, (dysplasia)? Good with kids? We are dog poor, but she makes you set up and take notice, for sure. For any members who are dog lovers, and like to read, I highly recommend the new book by Robert Crais entitled " Suspect". It will give you a new perspective on, and appreciation for, our Military dogs trained to lead patrols and detect explosives in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. They are amazing animals, to put it mildly, and have saved many American lives. Anyway, she is a beauty, and heres hoping ya'll have many enjoyable years with her---Scott

Nice pics Dan. My wife has only seen me get mad two times and one was when someone kicked one of our dogs. I had surgery two Christmas ago and was in the recliner for three weeks. Our oldest dog only left my side to eat or go outside to the restroom then back up next to me in the recliner the entire time i was down. They are truly amazing.

The world is full of people that have never, nor ever will experince both, consider yourself lucky to experience one, and blessed to experience both. I have been blessed with more than both, I have had dogs since a kid and can not count the goods one, but there have been many, today I have two, 13, and 14 years old, when they are gone, they will be the last. Too attached to one that it will break our heart when she is gone. They truly are "Man's Best Friend"

I would have to say that I am truly blessed. I have a wonderful wife of 25 years now and three years ago we lost our beloved Chocolate Lab that we had for 14 years. We still miss him. We have cats now, they are cute but they are not the same.

She's a good lookin pooch there Dan :)! Holy cow 140lbs.?? She must eat a 50lb. bag of dog food a week ;)! I know how much my 80lb. coonhound, severely overweight might I add, eats but I love her to death! Good share!

Thanks,
Mike

I have fed her the same every day since i have had her. I bake a large bag of white chicken breast in water and cook 5 pounds of hamburger a week. She gets half a chicken breast and some hamburger with 2 cups of Nutro dry food twice a day. ;) Sometimes she will get some scraps from dinner and i do not buy treats.

I hear you their. I let a infection in my colon get bad because i wanted to wait it out and not go to the doctor a couple months back. I wound up in the hospital for 8 days with several tubes in my body to draw the infection out. I was off work for about 5 weeks. She new i was not rite and laid by my side where ever i was at for days not making a peep. She took good care of me. ;D

Chicken breast and Hamburger, and its a dog's Life as they say. P.S.(We do the same). Amazing how human they become when around you all the time, they will pick up your habits, just watch, aboslutely amazing.

I know what you mean. We have a large state park about 15 minutes up the road with a large lake. Thousands of acres of state property surround it and the Ohio river is also about 10 minutes from me. We go hiking many times during the week and for sure if their is snow as we both love it. We have some good chat sessions together when out their. ::) ;D

My buddy Gilbert the Labrador Retriever. When he was 1 I had him somewhat pointing when pheasant hunting. Unfortunately my wife has domesticated him. Now he only points at the door when he needs to poop.

last year I paid over £2000.00 to have my 13 year old dogs knee joint repaired, on telling a neighbour about it he said why didn't you spend the money on your own knee joints instead of limping around on a walking stick, I replied, because I can use a walking stick, he can't
