Mule deer Bullet

You are trying to take a one off reason and pushing it to all hunting.
Again you assume a lot. What I'm trying to get across is that I would not let someone use bullets of dubious hunting ability to hunt in an area where puny white tail, LARGE mule deer, Elk, both Black and Grizzly bears and Moose are likely targets. Call up that guide of yours and tell us what he thinks of using target bullets to hunt large and or dangerous game. Would you use a crescent wrench for a hammer? Sure it MIGHT get the job done but is it the right tool for the job? dedogs

As stated before what match bullet was designed to mushroom or come apart in paper?

If you don't want to use them please do not. I am not forcing anyone to use match bullets to hunt. Heck I am not forcing anyone to use any bullets. Now you are using shaming to force us to switch. That is a very liberal (left) stance all of you are taking.
It's an ethical hunter stance I am taking.

I have and this is the jist of what they said. Most who come to us just cannot shoot well enough to keep their shots on a paper plate at 200. They all come with the recommended calibers but just can't handle the power.

For the record I have killed 2 grisly bear with match bullets. one was with my 338 using a 300gr MK. The other was with my 300 using a 220gr MK. The first was a about 775yds a shot right over the head turned its spine to bone dust. The second was a gravy shot right to the head. She was looking at us when the bullet hit her in the nose. The bullet opened up most of the head. very disgusting.

If I was going to hunt in close cover like I said before the G3 would come with. In the open the heavyweight mags come with.

I bet you get hunters not shooters. I am a shooter not a hunter.

Yes you are trying to push a one off to everyone. Most of us don't have dangerous game in our AO. As stated before I have killed elk with SMK bullets.

Pardon my possible ignorance BUT I have to believe that most if not all us guys on this forum are ethical shooters, hunters, sportsman. Just my gut feeling. With the exception of a few that are on here just to prey on people in the classifieds. That said, hunting with whatever bullets takes an animal cleanly and quickly is the bullet for the job. We all strive to do that. We all will just have to agree to disagree on the bullet thing. Been doing that for years and will continue to for years to come. The

What does target bullet mean? On some the jackets are thin, so fragmentation before penetration. On others jacket too thick, so pass through without expansion. Some may be in between and perform suitably. How is one to know which target bullet they have? I would not opt to be the guinea pig to find out.

I build quite a few rifles for elk guides and none of them are requesting throating for " hunting bullets" after watching a few hundred elk piled up I'll never shoot a bullet again because someone thinks it a hunting bullet, I shoot bullets that prove themselves accurate and lethal, don't much care what the construction or hype is just performance on big game!! Most any bullet that will open will kill a mule deer, my daughter has piled up her last two bucks with a 223 and 60 gr soft points, neither made it 30 feet so it that will work most anything will!!
