You are treading on very thin ice! dedogsPlease disregard any and all facts left in any and all posts that match/ target bullets work exceptionally well for game animals where factual documented cases were described
Been treading on thin ice my whole life...plus I can swim. You are treading on very thin ice! dedogs
I believe you are correct, but would there over all sales be jeopardized ???If Sierra extolled the virtues of the MK as a hunting bullet, their "hunting bullet" line would suffer![]()

Thats a target bullet, not a hunting bullet. Per Sierra: While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications.
Very good point. There is some good premium ammo built and sold but yes point well taken. Your preaching to the choir here more than you know. There are some misguided soles tho.lol Now that is rich. So basically at least 90% of your "hunters" are such poor shots they use factory ammo because you know they are not shooting a lot of ammunition with their hunting rifle.
But it is your business run it as you see fit. You are still wrong with your policy in general use. As stated target bullets do work.
Your post really tells me why many here think a 400yd head shot is out of the question. First you are using a mediocre factory rifle. Second you are using factory ammo. Third it is hunting bullets. I can see why. Heck could your 90% even take a 400yd shot and have a 50% chance of hitting the critter? I bet not.
You assume a lot. And you would lose that bet! dedogsFirst you are using a mediocre factory rifle. Second you are using factory ammo. Third it is hunting bullets. I can see why. Heck could your 90% even take a 400yd shot and have a 50% chance of hitting the critter? I bet not.
What does this mean? dedogsSo basically at least 90% of your "hunters" are such poor shots they use factory ammo because you know they are not shooting a lot of ammunition with their hunting rifle.
At least someone on here understands the situation, add to that all the other 7.62 use, 77 grain 5.56 and 338's and they are left relying on target shooters. You bet you your sweet ars they wont mention the H word. I did watch one of their employees hammer a few speed goats with a 22 WSSM stuffed with 90 smk'sVery true as would their government bullet sales. It would cripple the US sniping program in just one very short sentence.
How a target bullet performs on paper is irrelevant, it's how it performs on game. Where we hunted there was an occasional encounter with a Grizzly Bear. Would you serously consider using a target bullet on a pissed-off Grizzly? As stated before what match bullet was designed to mushroom or come apart in paper?

And your guide would not be armed with "target bullets". dedogsFor the record that is why I have a guide
It doesn't take a target bullet to shoot 35 yds. The guides I spoke to also use very large slow bullet. You are trying to take a one off reason and pushing it to all hunting. And your guide would not be armed with "target bullets". dedogs
