most accurate 22 lr pistol

Had to be Bill Calfee's Remington 40X pistols. Would love to find one. After that its probably someone's benchrest pistol, but how would anyone know for certain. Bob Marvel's last 1911 conversions are incredible, better than my S&W 41 and HS Victor. The Colt Officer Models are very accurate; ugly, but they do shoot. Perhaps one of the Olympic pistols : Hammerli, Pardini, Walther...

I have a s&w 41. woodsman match target.and high standard Victor.there all shooters.my contender with match grade barrel.shoots very well.

Depends on what you mean by most accurate. The Calfee conversion on an XP100 was not factory but would probably be at the top of the list for ultimate accuracy. I'd say for factory long range handgun accuracy it'd have to be either the Anschutz Exemplar or the Freedom Arms 252.

Freedom Arms Model 83 (252) 10" barrel

Either of these two can keep up with most of the better rimfire rifles at our local long-range matches. If I was to pick one I'd say the Anschutz due to being easier to make each shot the same with the monopod and weight. The Freedom is scary accurate but is very picky on setup and hold.

Useless for offhand shooting, there are better guns suited for that so they would easily out shoot these two for that type of shooting. Not more true accuracy but would be more accurate for that purpose and to some they would be more accurate.

Group size is considered to be a benchmark for accuracy so these two guns would be very capable of that off rests or bags. Lots of variables on peoples opinion of "most accurate".

Out of the box, mass produced? Anschutz hands down. I am biased though. I own an Exemplar and with the right ammo, the accuracy is consistently excellent.

Used to have a High Standard Supermatic that was a dead ringer.
Kinda wish I would have held onto it. But, I am not a huge pistol guy.
If I was buying today Anschutz, Hammerli, Pardini, Walther would be where I would look too.

You never said what intended use was for, for a darn good shooter, I bought a 4" S&W 617 10 shot revolver, it shoots as good as a 6" Colt Diamondback that I had.
Doubt either of mine would hold up against that specialty pistol^^^ above.

i was wondering about who makes the most accurate factory 22 lr pistol
Nobody has said anything about the Rugers. Ever one I have or have had shot pretty good. That being said the ones mentioned would be hard to beat. Anschutz would be hard to beat in my book. The ones I have shot were very impressive.

I have the Browning Buckmark Varmint model with the 11" bull barrel. Never shot any competition type 22lr handguns like the Anshutz, but my Browning is the most accurate 22lr pis to I've ever shot. Easily hold less than 3/4" groups at 50 yards, plus it's semi automatic so that makes things a little more fun.

lone hunter its interesting that you bring up the ruger i just bought the mark 4 hunter and i'm impressed with the accuracy.

Yes, I have one of the Mark II's Slab side competition model and the accuracy is very impressive with just about all ammo. I had an Anschultz rifle and accuracy was off the chart. My son said when shooting it "Dad, This is cheating." It shot fantastic. The Ruger shoots a lot better than I can. Like the way the Mark 4 breaks down also.

I've got a Ruger Mark III Hunter that shoots really, really good to me. It's not as high end as some pistols mentioned, but it's definitely one of my favorites.

Nice Supermatic. I shot a 41 when I competed at bullseye but had I known how well the early Victors shot... prefer the grip for rapidfire recovery. But its hard to beat the 1911 geometry. There were very few Rugers on the line, usually someone getting started. Could just be that they were a PITA to clean.

High Standard Victor or High Standard Supermatic Trophy for semi autos. I have a Thompson contender 10" match that will put them in the same hole at 25 yards. My Victor will do that at 50 yards. All were or are scoped at any given time.
