1:3? was it rifled with a tap?.338 1:3 twist.
Ive heard rumors electronics malfunction when bullets spin that fast, time slows....ect. Good luck with that.
I have 338 projos on the shelf, the appeal of a subsonic 338 is real. I was leaning 338 federal.
Maybe look into something fin stabilized? The RPM's are a real problem, imo. Your're limited to subsonic heavies, or solid projectiles for supersonic use.
1050 with a 300 grainGood Lord. I never knew a 3 twist was even available in any caliber. What's the muzzle velocity?
So a 3 twist is going to be overstabilized considering the bullet weight.1050 with a 300 grain
At 1050 fps, the rpm is 252,000.So a 3 twist is going to be overstabilized considering the bullet weight.
It looks like it when you look down one of the barrels.1:3? was it rifled with a tap?
Right now I've got Q brass (Which I believe is Hornady... doesn't have the same look/feel as starline)
Those 300g SMKs are known to be good subs. I have 2 boxes sitting on my bench. But I also have a lot of 285 Gorilla projectiles to use and those would be preferable for hunting. I don't see a lot of advantage in using subsonics for hunting, in my case at least. I currently can't use a supressor, although that can change as it's being tossed around in the courts. But currently I can't use a supressor in California. For bullets I have:
300g SMK's and 160g TTX
