More Bostrom RSA tuner results

It wasn't a bad day for testing the new RSA tuner on my .308 F/TR Savage at 200yds. I tried to wait on the wind as best I could and there was both a good bit of mirage and the sun going in and out. Still, I believe the tuner is validated.

MOAAll.jpg are the 5 test targets (Base, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). MOA.jpg is a screen shot from the On Target program (showing a .402 grouping). I know test target 3 was the best even with the two outliers. After I fired and looked at my wind flags. it had come up. After the 5 test targets, I went back to tuner setting 3 and shot a final target. After I made a sight adjustment, the wind just suddenly died completely (streamers straight down and no propellers) and I fired my last 5 rounds with good effect.

Case: Lapua
Primer: CCI BR2
Powder: VV-140
Bullet: Berger 185 Juggernaut.

Before adding the tuner, I have produced nearly equal groups at 300yds shooting the Berger 155.5 target bullets. But the 300yd lane at Fairfax Rod and Gun Club is almost always clear of wind the way it sets into the hillside. I guess the barrel was naturally tuned with those bullets/powder/etc.

Bottom line for me is the Bostrom tuner works and I think the targets clearly indicate it.

If I can just learn to read the wind better... but that's what everyone says I guess.

Thanks for the update. 0.4" group at 200 is very good. Did you just pick a powder charge out did you do any work to find accuracy node?

Yes, I went with a full load of 43.7gr... from the VV tables. Sorry, I should have included that weight.

Nope on the accuracy load. To me, the accuracy load is the load that has sufficient MV, and the one that results in the least barrel harmonics. I just decided to let the tuner do that part of it.

Glad you are seeing good results. Cant wait to get mine up and going.
Any issue with the tuner setting changing during firing?

It did shift on the first shot because I was too close to being off the o-ring. I rotated it a full turn to get it more engaged and from that point, I had no problem.
