Montana moose hunt

I'll take time and organize more on my last post about that. 300 wsm shooting 185 jugs at 3060 with adg brass and rl16. Vortex lht 3-15. The poor thing took a he'll of a hit coming out I fell bad and she slammed rocks under the snow. Will have to shoot it to check zero before anymore hunts for sure.

I don't see anything cracked or dented at least!
Love seeing pictures of rifles with bolt open.. Safety First! Oh and heck of a great thread.. Lots of work went into that one hunt and all.

I live in the cabinets and I’m pretty sure @tom went way above anywhere I’ve been, they are freaking brutal.
Congrats Tom on a hell of a hunt

What you have posted is the dream of many here in the East who have never seen the Rocky Mountains. Don’t ever take what you see on a daily basis for granted. You are truly blessed and thank you very much for your post. Maybe some day I will be able to lay my old weary eyes on those mountains.

You better make a road trip. We are going to be making a lot of sausage and snack sticks this weekend. Bring the trimmings. There will be a brisket on and some pheasants getting shot. I think Glenn has enough seasoning to make about 500 pounds of summer sausage and salami.

I have to say it's some of the best meat I've ever tasted. Hard to get my work done when everything looks like it needs sampled!

Tom
I’ve had moose once in my life back in 2010 when a buddy I worked with drew a tag in North Dakota. The resident tags there are once in a lifetime. He couldn’t find a mature bull and ended up shooting a big cow on the last day of his season. He invited a bunch of us over for grilled steaks after he got it cut up. I’ll have to say that I think it was some of the best meat I’ve ever had as well. Better than the best elk I’ve ever tasted for sure. Will never forget how good those moose steaks were!
