How many use modified cases?
I looked at the Brownells and Sinclair websites and do not see this tool. Got a link?I did until I switched to the more versatile Sinclair Distance to Lands tool.
Mike, it appears this is a new tool. Might be very useful if you need to make up quite a few modified cases for each rifle caliber you have on hand if the case in question is not available.I saw this jig setup. Thoughts?

Modified Case Jig Kit
The patent pending Modified Case Jig provides a quick and easy way to create modified cases fit to your chamber from once fired brass. The only tool needed is a cordless drill. This is an essential reloading tool for reloaders who hand load for multiple cartridges or wildcats.rytgear.com

I hear you. Hence the post to see what kind of feedback I get. My initial thought was costly too. I'm sure there are other setups out there.Mike, it appears this is a new tool. You'd have to make up a large amount of modified cases to make this one cost effective though.
Sounds like the Loc-Tite method I watched on UR the other day.For odd ball cases I would loosen up the neck a little on a sized case, add blue glue and insert polished bullet. Chamber it over night. On inspection with a 10x loupe I would measure the length of lands skid marks from the jamb and subtract from coal measurement to get the measurement to lands.
blue glue = loc-tite. YupSounds like the Loc-Tite method I watch on UR the other day.
Gavin was using red. I'm a little hesitant to go red in my barrel. Idk, just me.blue glue = loc-tite. Yup
blue works fine so why use red. red not permitted around my guns and loading gear!Gavin was using red. I'm a little hesitant to go read in my barrel. Idk, just me.
