model 12 in 223 swap to 6mmbr help

Im pretty sure I already asked this but I couldn't find the post. I'm interested in setting up my savage model 12 bvss to shoot 6mmbr. I kinda remember someone telling me all I need to do is get an eabco. 308 bolt face and 6mmbr barrel. I just wanted to double check this and ask for suggestions of anything special I should have my Smith do I know I could get a tool and swap them but I'm not to confident with that. also. if and when I do this ill probably sell my 7 twist factory savage barrel. ill list that if and when I go ahead with this. just looking to do mostly 300 yards and occasionally 1000 just for kicks. not really to concerned with how it would do but if there's a twist that would let me shoot inexpensive bullets accurately at 300 but then the occasional 1000 yard playing then I may as well do it. I say 300 because that's what my range has but the guys and I would love to take a trip out to a place a couple hrs away from us that has 1000. thanks, Nick.

Yep, That will get you going. It is a fairly straight forward swap that by now most Gunsmiths have done. Unless your gun is a single shot you will need a SSS or Score Hi single shot follower or a Factory.308 follower and Mag box. You could also put a Precision recoil lug in while barrel is off.

its currently a repeater blind magazine style. I've read that 6br doesn't feed well in magazines except stuff like Eliseo offers. so I was planning on a follower like you mentioned. thanks.

I used to shoot mine with a single shot follower and the ejector taken out, makes keeping brass on the table easier.

Pacific tool and gauge for the bolt head.

I actually have a large shank Shilen select match 6br 8twist varmint contour 30" round count 350. I would sell it for $295 shipped
