MidwayUSA -- Good Fast Shipping

I use Midway all the time and always choose UPS, never a problem. If you sign up for the upgraded UPS service, even if it gets redirected to USPS, you can stop that from happening and keep UPS as the shipper. Plus you can track your order and see where the truck is when it's "OUT FOR DELIVERY"

Not for me :)!
Just amused at resurrection of old thread, and particularly right after Black Friday/Cyber Monday frenzy of sales.
If anything I would love to watch the packing/shipping department during the preparation of the cases of CCI BR-2/BR-4 primers recently offered for near pre-C19 price points by Mid South. Given that my order tracking already indicates in route, and I took advantage of free shipping/hazmat, I can very patient indeed.
My first thought was the OP finally goy his order.

Not quite like the last time the shortage ended and primers were $100-150 per 5000 delivered. I think suppliers learned not to back order so much stock and have it all show up at once. It pays to wait.

I’m to the point of paying the upgrade to UPS and leaving usps out of it. USPS could very well have your package and no one competent has scanned it. My packages sit in various regional or local distribution centers in St. Louis for 2-3 days before making it to my local office. Especially during the holidays. UPS is essentially overnight delivery from midway.

I made an order Monday and it just shipped today, so Midway may have been backed up from the holiday sales as well.
I did that last week to get a new reloading manual and a few other things, they tacked an extra 8$ for UPS on top of the regular shipping which came to $16. Too much, but my driver is a heck of a guy on personal service.

Here is a tip on how to get around the surepost bs. USPS cannot ship ammo. So every time I order from Midway, I first make sure to order over $100 worth of stuff (not hard to do!) that way shipping is free. Then I add a cheap box of 22 ammo which makes them ship UPS for free. Works like a charm.

Midway is great but their tech service lacks alot. I bought a barrel that was rifled with a shovel. Talk about rough. So I sent it back and sent a note to send another one if someone could please bore scope it before shipping so I didnt get another barrel as they ignored me complletey even though I gave them 3 ways to contact me. I am still a faithful customer but that left me baffled.

I never thought they would do that. That's a great idea, thanks.

Agreed! I was looking for a B&A specific trigger for my ELR 300 NMI. Their importer did not have any in stock. Midway had a dozen, and for $25 less, and free shipping. They are my "Go-to" shopping company.

Midway now says usps picked it up but it has never checked in to a usps facility. If it hasnt appeared somewhere in 10 days, i can get another order or refund. Ya just cant make this stuff up

It's NOT shipped that fast.
Label created is NOT shipped.
When I've checked tracking it has been moving with the carrier that same date. Works for me. Better than the ones that are crickets for a few days. I have one of those orders, a first time order, with another vendor.

I use midway for small stuff and when they decide to sell something at a massively discounted rate.

Otherwise I would never risk buying fragile stuff from there (bullets, brass, etc). Sometimes it's ridiculously careless.

Instead of doing multiple shipments they will throw everything in a massively oversized box with basically no fill. It's a total crap shoot with them.

Plenty of other places to order from that take proper care in shipping your items (bluecollarreloading is a great example)

Midway is horrible when it comes to shipping. They send emails that the product has shipped days before it is even in the hands of the shipper. You hit the link for tracking and you get the message that tracking information will be provided when the shipper has the product in hand. I ordered something last Thursday. Got the product has shipped message Friday. Tuesday of this week it finally arrived at the shipper. 5 days it took to get the product to the shipper. They've done this forever. I only order from them when I don't need it anytime soon.

That’s not been my experience at all. I get a notification when the shipping label is created and I can’t remember a single time it wasn’t on the way the next day.

I have had issues with them just tossing loose stuff in a box, so that it gets beat up during shipping.

You must live across the street or something. One of the things I ordered will be here tomorrow. The other will be here next week. Both ordered last week. Always several days before the tracking number is valid for me. And it has been that way for a very long time.

The time before the same thing. I ordered a gun case and some 22 mag ammo. The mag ammo was just tossed into a large box. One of the boxes broke open and rimfire cartridges were scattered from one end to the other of the 4 foot long box. UPS was worried so he stuck around while I opened it to see if it had to be returned. Fortunately all of them were in the box just a broken plastic ammo box.

I've had a few like that but this one is finally on its way. Scheduled to arrive on the 9th, which is 11 days after ordering. Pony express was faster.
BCR is usually here the next day but they didnt carry what I needed this time. I guess they spoiled me. LOL

I ordered from Midway last Sunday that included HAZMAT items to be shipped UPS. Tuesday received an email that said UPS was overloaded and would I like to change my shipper to FED EX with the statement that this order would be signature required on delivery. I replied to the email with a change of shippers and they confirmed the shipper change. No info since .

I ordered a scope which was shipped via fedex last year. Driver claims to have attempted delivery 5 times but says nobody was here. Either my wife or I were here everyday that week and he was never here. A call to them yielded nothing. The scope just disappeared. I got the NC states attorney involved. A few hrs after they sent them an email, the scope was found and delivered the next day. Fedex is at the bottom of my list along with USPS

yep, ordered stuff friday mid morning, and an hour later got the shipped notice. there web site says 11 minutes is there record for having it on the truck. the truck has been sitting at the dock all weekend, maybe it will leave monday afternoon. but still processing an order in an hour is pretty good.

There was a time when Midway shipping charges priced them completely out of my shopping. That was about 20 years ago and I mean they didn't even provide any lube with the cost. I reckon they finally saw the light and came back to reality. I always liked their selections and started buying again after their 'market correction'.
