Medical Marijuana Card Holders/Firearms Purchases -- Nadda

I guess I started this thread because to me it doesn't seem like much of a leap from banning gun sales to medical marijuana users -- to other prescription holders and diagnosed conditions.

I'm a suspicious bastard, and I think that in this political climate, we will see many steps taken to separate gun owners/users from the herd by whatever means possible.

My perspective is also probably influenced by the fact that I'm in Oregon, and the marijuana culture and industry has become very huge and mainstream almost over night. It's easy to forget the Federal stance on cannabis when our state and county laws permit it and it's being openly grown and sold in a very big and open way. jd

Medical marijuana is bullshit. It is an end around to allow access to marijuana by people who don't medically need it. They are trying to get it on the ballot in my state for the third or fourth time. It is proposed by people that want access to, but don't medically need, marijuana but don't have the balls to fight the real fight, which is actual legalization.

I'm interested to see what's going to occur when weed is legalized on a federal basis, which I believe will happen soon. jd

It'll never happen, there's too much of an industry built around keeping it illegal, from labs testing employees to the monies allocated to local law enforcement and the vendors it's spent on. That industry has a powerful lobby, more than enough to override common sense and public opinion.
